any good teachers in Madrid, Spain?
A friend of mine just moved with her husband and little girl to Madrid, Spain. She wants to take bellydance classes there and I think she is a semi beginner or intermediate level. Does anyone can recommend good teachers over there? Please post here or send me a pm. Thanks!

I know there are quite good bdance teachers in Madrid.I visit the city about twice a year and have even caught on some great professional quality shows as "Raks Madrid" last year.I could recommend you to point her to websites like www.aprendedanzaoriental.com and/or www.conoriente.com
Good luck!
This Claudia Cenci is very well know and recommended there:

Another good ones:
Gloria Alba http://www.gloria-alba.com/
and Nesma: http://www.alandalusdanza.com/

Now that i remember this Claudia Cenci was the main featured original bellydancer who performed on several scenes of "El Clon" soap opera.Last edited by Sashy; 06-21-2007 at 03:42 PM.

I've heard of a dancer named Nesma. Is she based out of Spain? I've never seen her dance. I've only seen still photos of her. She does teach at events around the world. I think I heard that she was a protege of Mahmoud Reda? Not sure, perhaps someone else can verify this.

Yes,Nesma is Spanish and spent some years dancing in Cairo. She was the producer of "Raks Madrid" last year, and yes,i've also heard or read something about her being Mahmoud Reda's protege.I have not seen her dance live, though.
That "Raks Madrid" production featured her group performing some wonderful Andalusian/Arabic numbers.I also highly recommend one of the CD's produced by her, "Del Cairo al Guadalquivir",based on one of this Andalusian/Arabic performances.
