Thread: Attn: St. Louis teachers

I'm will be in the St. Louis MO area next weekend visiting family (Jan. 31st and Feb. 1st) and I'm looking for any teachers that specialize in Turkish or Lebanese style oriental dance, or Lebanese debkah, that have a free hour or two available for a private lesson. I was told last night that it would be good if I sometimes incorporated these styles into my mostly Egyptian-influenced performances. Thanks in advance, and also, if you know of any shows this coming weekend that I might be able to expose my relatives to, that could be a fun thing. Thanks!!!

I highly recommend Bhuzzer Nisaa for debke.

She's a good teacher, breaks things down well, understands cultural context, will never pretend to know more than she does or make up answers... and she really loves debke and you can feel it when you dance with her.

I'm not sure if her debke is Lebanese, though, it may be more Palestinian. I don't know how much that matters or how different they are...
