Thread: looking for performence opportunities

Hello my name is Devona-Ankhsunamon and I live in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago. I am looking for performence opportunities, especially paying ones. I have been studying for 6 years and have several haflas under my belt. I am also the hired Belly Dancer for a event in Oak Forest, Illinois on Sept. 8th, called Pagan Pride. I do most styles, as well as fuion using non middle eastern dance music, veil, wings, cane and sword. Should have my portfolio finished in mid August. Welcome! Hi, I'm Kara. I actually live in the far NW area of the state and work/teach in Arlington Heights, IL. I know there's a pretty big belly dance community in the South Suburbs and, of course, in the city. It might make sense to attend some of the Southside Haflas (or any Chicagoland haflas) to meet and mingle with other dancers/instructors. You might also consider signing up for an upcoming workshop with one of the many fabulous local instructors or an out-of-state guest instructor and then introduce yourself as someone interested in performing more frequently.
