Thread: What's going on in Chicago in May?

Hi Ladies,

I'm thinking of having a small event in May. So i'm wondering, besides Hadia, what else is going on here in the month of May?

A couple of things that I know of...

Zayna's hafla - May 2nd
Persephone's Daughter's Dark Cabaret workshop - May 17th
Aradia (in Milwaukee) - May 29th & 30th
Dina - May 29th, 30th & 31st

I don't think I'd be planning a May event if I were in chicago...I'd be thinking about renting out sofa space!

June 7 Abreveya's Show
June 20-21 Tribal Revolution
June 27 Workshops and student show sponsored by Nilaja, Magda, and Donna Diva

And I think there's something else in June (6 & 7?) sponsored by Sonya - Tempest?

I think May 3 got missed. Leila Gamal Workshop in Palos Heights sponsored by Magda.

Tempest and Tim Rayborn will be at Arabesque June 6th.

May 3rd is fan veil and a choreography how to workshop at Arabesque

That helps alot. So i'll just do the small event for my students like I planned. I just wanted to see what was going on with the rest of the community and I didn't want to step on any toes. Okay so i'll probably still do the weekend I was planning. I'll still announce it but i'm guessing we'll go to whatever else is happening the same night.

Mango is what used to be called the Sphinx cafe Hafla's. name change. Food change. Same great people.

Thanks Rose. I did consider that but my event will be over by 5 pm. Also it will be Egyptian style and I figured most people who do tribal or fusion will just go to your's anyway while those more interested in Egyptian will go to mine plus mine will be on the south side. There's some other Tribal thing going on that weekend too Zafirah was telling me.

That's great about the show tho. I like to see us doing big things at theaters. Congrats...g.:
