Thread: The inside scoop- Seattle area

I hope this is the right section to post this...I'm moving cross-country in about a month from Charleston, SC to Kitsap County in Washington and need to find instructors. I know Seattle is busting at the seams with bellydancers, teachers, workshops, etc etc, but we will be about an hour and a half from Seattle in the Bremerton/Silverdale area. Does anyone know some good teachers remotely close to there? I'm more than willing to drive to Seattle every once in a while, but unfortunately I don't think it will be feasible for a regular class
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!

I wish I could help, but I'm not sure of anyone who is over in Bremerton and it is a long haul to Seattle.

Maybe someone else can suggest?

Have you already tried the instructors directory on shira.net?
I think saqra.net has a regional calendar that might give you some clues.

Yes Renee is in Seattle too, so it might be a bit of a drive. Hasani is wonderful! If you've seen her dance you'll be so excited to study with her. Not to mention the awesome hafla she puts on four times a year! ..g.:

Yes Renee is in Seattle, as am I and most of the other teachers 'round these parts. Kitiera was teaching out there for a time, but she is in San Fran now, teaching at Suhaila's studio.

I can't even begin to sing the praises of Hasani! She has been my teacher for about 4 years now and she is great great great!

Thanks for all the info, sorry so long to reply to everyone but I've made the big move and am now settling in Silverdale, WA. I got to attend the Med Fantasy Festival yesterday in West Seattle and saw some pretty great performers! Can't wait to get "in the network" here. I'm planning on making the drive to Hasani's place to see exactly how far it is from here, maybe it won't be too bad :) I'm definitely leaning toward your classes Hasani if it's not a bad drive, you seem to come very highly recommended!!!..g.:

Found a studio in Poulsbo called The Dance Within, the instructor is Claudine, anyone hear anything about that?
Also, where would I find info on Nadira? Thanks alot for all the help everyone!

Claudine is a sweet gal. She is well known for working with teens, which I think is fab. I know little about her adult classes. It's always worth a try!
