Dark Cabaret Groove: Fusion combos and Choreography w/ Nilaja- Add some serious cool chill to a hot summer afternoon with a sensational Dark Cabaret Choreography. Learn new saucy combos using basic belly dance movements, a pinch of hip hop and a whole lot of attitude. Mix it all up together for a delicious jaw dropping and mouth watering dark cabaret choreography. All dance levels welcome. Heaping amounts of sassy attitude required.

Classic Cane Combos w/ Magda: Learn the art of cane dance for use with Traditional Saiidi or Club Style Oriental. Dancers will explore the Saiidi music style and learn how to adapt these movements for use in Club Style Oriental performance. Dancers will also explore the improv aspects of cane work. Please bring your own cane, or buy from one of our vendors.

Killer Ziller Choreography w/ Donna Diva: Wake yourself up, stretch out your fingers, and get ready for some zilling fun! This choreography is fast, sassy, and full of opportunity to play a plethora of patterns to make your fingers fly. The music is classic Raks Sharqi with a little bit of pop, jazz and plenty of attitude. While some zills basics will be helpful, even beginner zillers will dance away with more confidence and a choreography they can take home and make their own. Please bring your own zills, or buy a set from our vendors.

Special guest star Leila Gamal teaching Oriental Dance Design. Leila will explore important design concepts that complete the dance. The elements of body line, floor patterning, and “air” design will be incorporated into combination that promise to enhance your performances and lift them to a more professional level. Leila always presents an informative and high-energy class, with emphasis on developing musical sensitivity and strong movement technique. She has the unique ability to develop and to inspire students of any level to express their fullest potential.

Just a reminder, everyone. If you have asked for a performance spot in the show, you MUST get your registration in ASAP to guarantee your spot. Magda will only confirm once we receive your paid registration. (Not to put the pressure on or anything )

Still plenty of room left in all workshops! There is plenty of space to hang out between workshops, plenty of restaurants close by for food, and our vendors will have plenty of wonderful stuff available for your purchasing pleasure!! Tickets for the show are also available, and we're open to the public.

I believe some of my students are going to be coming down - I've strongly encouraged them to do so.

I wish I could come, but I have a bridal shower gig in the early afternoon and a hafla in the evening that I've already committed to for that day.

I am definately going to try and make it down!!! I've been out of the bellydance loop for so long after having the baby... I need to make up for lost time! :)

I sent this out to my students. I'll be out of town that weekend but hopefully some of them will be able to go.

Just a gentle reminder that if you're planning on doing any of the workshops at Belly Fest, please get your registrations in soon. We wouldn't want to have to cancel an event because everyone waited until the last minute to sign up.

Just a note that there is a break room available where you can hang out between workshops with complimentary coffee, tea, water. Bring your own lunch (microwave available) or there are many restaurants close by. The vendors will be available all day and evening during the show for your purchasing pleasure!

There is nowhere else locally where you will get the opportunity to take 4 fantastic workshops in one day, on 4 different topics all designed to enhance your belly dance knowledge and skill. And if you've never taken a workshop with Leila Gamal - don't miss this opportunity!

Sorry to have to post like this, but we were just informed that the hotel had triple booked the rooms we were using for Belly Fest and we do not have the priority contract. Consequently we are cancelled! (That event coordinator is now unemployed.)

We are working on a new date (with perks!) and will update everyone when we have better news. Please do not send me any registrations!! And for those of you who have already sent in your registrations by check or PayPal, your money will be returned as soon as possible.

Nilaja, Magda, and I appreciate your understanding and hope that those of you who couldn't make it to Belly Fest on June 27 will be able to join us on the "new and improved" date!!

I am so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be. Let us know what the new date is. I was still saving my pennies to come so this gives me more time.

he/she deserved to loose thier job for doing that. i am soooo sorry Donna, especially since u put so much work into it. I am sure the new date one will be even more spectacular. hugs.
