Re: My first performance!
You did cover the stage and you did use your veil alot.
Nerves are bad, I wish they didn't exist for performaning.
Keep up the work and continue sharing it with us .Last edited by Michelle75; 07-23-2009 at 02:11 PM.

Re: My first performance!
I like two things in particular. First the way your whole body bent around 2.21 when you fling the veil from stage left to stage right over your head. Second, your enthusiastic male audience member (husband/boyfriend perhaps?). Like the man said "yeaaaaahhhhhhhh!"
I'm not giving a critique because you didn't ask for one :-)

YAY!!! You did a great job. Your nerves didn't show, you were bringing plenty of energy and extension (nerves make people crumple up and dance really small sometimes). Lots of gorgeous spinning (maybe that's why you puked?)
The costume is just gorgeous, love the color and the full skirt, it shows up really well onstage. Nice choice!!

Re: My first performance!
No wonder you were nervous - that looked like a big audience! (I think my first performance was for about a dozen people, and I was with a troupe!)
I really like some of the veil moves you did. Personally, I have a death grip on my veil because I'm so afraid of the wind taking it away, so I like to see when people let go and recapture it. I'd love to have that confidence and command.

Re: My first performance!
Very good veilwork. Good stage covering - and good stage presence from what I could tell from the video.
Your first performance is for one reason - and one reason only: To get you on stage. If you accomplish more than that, you're ahead of the game! I'd say you accomplished WAAAY more than that. Congrats!

Re: My first performance!
Brava! It can be very difficult to keep veilwork interesting throughout an entire song, and you did that superbly! I couldn't see what your hips were doing much, just because of the distance-- but if they were as good as your arms, you had just about as nice a first performance as I've seen. The nerves will probably subside in time. Remember that even experienced stars can get bad stage fright, but the first performance is likely to be the worst. I hope to see more from you! Keep at it!
