It is Thanksgiving weekend . . . really hard to make travel plans to NYC over that weekend although it beats the heck out of driving to Arkansas to make nice with the family, lol!!!

Yasmina is a very nice person (met her in Cairo about 2 years ago) and produces some great music CDs.

It's fantastic that she's coming, and I would dearly love to go. I would DEARLY LOVE to go. I've only ever seen Yasmina on video, but it's clear that she's tremendous and she comes highly recommended by people I really respect. I've wished for years that she would come here.

But what STINKS is that as far as I know this was just announced, and November is already chock-full of big events for Egyptian style in the mid-Atlantic: Cassandra and Sahra in Philadelphia and Hadia in Richmond, all on consecutive weekends. It's an embarassment of riches, and I'm tapped out for the time being. Had I known Yasmina was coming, I might have made different decisions about what to book. *sniffle*

But hey, I'm five hours away. I hope NYC-area dancers are already beating down the doors to get in!

I know. I'm already seeing Dina in Chicago in mid Nov. I would have said no to this just because of that, but it's her first time in the US and she's friends with a friend of mine who has talked me into going. What the heck! I'm already in huge debt due to vet bills. What's a few more $$$$? At my age, I may not get another opportunity.

I want to go but working in a mall. Most likely I doubt it will happen. I will try though.

Yasmina is a dancer friend of mine from England whom I have known for 20 years !

There were 3 of us - including Amera - from Australia - that became friends being that we had the same Lebanese agent -

We danced in many of the same countries around the world - Jordan, Syria, Abu Dhabi, Dubai , Egypt , etc - she stopped her traveling and moved to Cairo to dance there 14 years ago - and now teaches there as well.

She is a fantastic dancer - worth seeing !!
