Doumbek player looking to form Middle eastern band in Philadelphia
Professional doumbek Arabic and djembe African drummer for bellydancers looking for members interested in playing Arabic music for bellydancers in gigs across the tri-state area. I know at least three bellydancers who might want to use our services for their ongoing gigs.
You should be able to play by ear and play well enough to be on stage. If you can play:
* Arabic/African drum (doumbek, tambourine, def/tar a.k.a. frame drum, djembe)
* accordion
* transverse flute, ney flute, shakuhachi flute, or any other type of flute
* violin
* Oud guitar
* bouzouki
* zurna/mismar
* any instrument that you can play in a Middle Eastern style, like electric guitar, bass etc.
then please email me at doumbekchi@yahoo.com. Please do not reply if you are not looking to make this an ongoing project and are not dedicated to come to practices. If you are, you will be part of the website band member profiles I will make to promote the band and we will be doing gigs with bellydancers in Philly, Jersey, and Delaware.
