I'm really excited to share with you...
The Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge Haflas are back!!
(at least for this month, more dates will be added soon)

The next Arabian Night Hookah Lounge Hafla will be:
Friday, March 19th, 8pm - ?
at: The Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge in Schaumburg!
1224B N Roselle Road
(847) 885 (SMOK)E

This Hafla is also a Benefit Fundraiser to Fight Local Homelessness! ..g.:

This is a different kind of Hafla...
there are less performers (There are only 6 performer discounts)
which can perform between 10-20 minutes,
no music restrictions,
AND the performers are able to collect tips in the tipping baskets!

It is $15 (plus donation if you have one) to get in.
BUT then you get to use $10 to spend on drinks/hookahs/cheesecake.
Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge does not have food or alcohol for sale.
You can bring food with you ($1 charge)
or they can order food for you ($2 charge toward your minimum)

Performers do not have a cover!
Tipping performers IS allowed! (YAY! money showers!) bring your singles!


The performers will have a back room to change and leave their things.
I will supply water & snacks for the performers' changing room &
tipping baskets on the floor during performances.

There is a parking lot & Internet acess
and of course....Open Dancing with DJ Instant Cash!!!!

Due to the smoking ban in Illinois
& since this Hafla is at a Hookah Lounge, it is 18 & older.
(but don't worry, they have MANY air cleaners!)

Fighting Local Homelessness:
This Hafla has 2 goals. (3 goals if you count having FUN as a goal)
Goal 1, is we are trying to raise $2,000 to send a local homeless man, Harry, back home to the Phillipines.
Goal 2, is to collect items that will help out our local homeless commmunity once the overnight shelters close in April. Every item helps from: clothes, shoes, & food, to laundry detergent, rainy weather gear, & leftover condiments from fast food places.

It was a wonderful hafla! And all the dancers were phenomenal! I hope you raised a lot of $ and donations to aid the homeless. Having the Zombie Squad .w.: made it extra special!

Man....soooooo bummed I missed out....stupid dilly bars!

Here are the TOTALS raised:

Money Raised: $350

Food Items Donated:
There were 51 canned foods donated including: 1.5 pound hams, turkey, chicken, spam, peaches, tomatoes, beans, vegetables, & soups. There were also 42 other food items donated including: rice, cookies, mixes, pickles, chips, jell-o, ramen, oatmeal, mac/cheese, & pasta items. That makes a total of 93 food items donated, there were also condiments donated.

Clothing Donated:
Clothing was the most donated item! People donated 14 NEW items: shoes, thermals, sweatshirts, & T-Shirts!
For women there are 24 shirts, 3 pair of pants, 4 shorts, & tights, purses, swimsuits, & undergarments.
For girls there are 1 shirt, 1 pair of pants, & also jackets, headbands, belts, & sunglasses.
For young boys there are 9 shirts, 6 pairs of pants, 4 shorts, & PJs, swim wear, & socks.
For young men there are 17 shirts, 8 pairs of pants, socks & undergarments.
For men there are 27 shirts, 15 pairs of pants, 5 shorts & fleece jackets, thermals, & vests
For a total of 83 shirts, 24 pairs of pants, 13 shorts & over 50 other miscellaneous clothes items!


Other Items Donated:
There is also an almost full brown bag filled with personal care items: conditioner, deodorant, tissues, razors, laundry detergent singles, & many more miscellaneous personal care items. There were also bags, umbrellas, blankets, paper products donated, & magazines.

TeeHeeHee...it didn't, you saw trip one.
I left a lot of stuff at Arabain Nights.
Also, some of the donations that were given earlier in the week stayed at home that night just incase we got a lot of donations.

Next Hafla is Friday, April 16th,
there are a few performance spots left!

You are very gracious, Zayna. I am so glad the night was such a success--that was the first bellydance show for several of my girlfriends, and they had a great time!

The Next Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge Hafla to Help fight Homelessness
is coming up Friday, May 21st!

There will not be a Hafla in June (July/August are pending).

If you can make it out to the Show, please consider bringing something from
your pantry or closet you don't need anymore for the homeless.

Performers- I will have drink/snacks for you in the dresing room

I am recovering from a small accident & still can't walk,
so I'm not sure if I'll be able to perform by Friday~

The recent storms in Chicagoland caused a lot of damage to the 2 places the donation I collect go to-
MOH/Ministry of Hope, lost power for a almost a week and thus lost all their cold storage food. They are funded by donation only.
WINGS- helping abused women & children rebuild their lives, lost their Palatine resale shop during the storms when it was destroyed by fire.
They are funded by two resale shops now.

Both places are in need of donations.

So we're going to have another Arabian Nights Hafla to help out these charities. It is Friday, July 16th.
(sorry, we had to act fast- they need help NOW)

Bring donations with you!
WINGS needs clothes & housewares
MOH needs Food/water! clothes, backpacks, shoes, personal care items, & weather related items (bug spray, sun block, tarps)

We will also have a guest of honor- Ann Marie, the voice of suburban homelessness. Come on out and meet the lady featured in the article, "Tweets From the Streets." She has more followers being homeless, then CEOs of 3 companies combined!

We are on a food, coat, & mens' shoe- drive this time for the local charities.
