Registration is now open!! Here is the info on the workshops:

Day 1 (Saturday, June 19):

Passionate Tabla Solo
11:00-1:00
Aradia will lead drills on the various types or shimmies used in Oriental and Folkloric dance. A drum solo Choreography taught in combination form will be taught using a variety of shimmies, layers, pops and locks. Learn tips to working with a live drummer.

Dancing within: The Art of the Taqsim
2:00-4:00
Aradia explores the slow, sultry side of this dance by using improvisation pieces of oud, ney, violin, and accordion. We’ll focus on feeling the music and unleashing your emotions. Learn the transitions from one instrument to another, speed and level changes, and also cover the call and answer part of the Beledi, between the accordion and drummer.


Day 2 (Sunday, June 20):

Luxious Lebanese Style
11:00-1:00
Learn the exquisite layered moves, elegant traveling steps, and saucy combinations that make Lebanese belly dance, the "ballroom dance" of the Middle East. Nobody does it with grace and flair like the stars of Lebanon!!

Elegant Oriental Combos
2:00-4:00
Aradia offers dynamic combinations for Oriental dance that can be applied to classic music or pop, with an emphasis on technique and transitions within the combinations; as well as stylization.


**Plus: Two-part lecture, "Essentials of Being a Professional Dancer".
1 hour each day, during lunch (1:00-2:00) (please bring a brown bag lunch).
Aradia will discuss the following topics:
Entrances/exits/veil wraps
Putting together a show on CD
Working with live bands
Music all dancers should know
Must have CD's
Judging your audience
Accepting tips/personal space/ protecting yourself
Dancer Etiquette
Rules of conduct when performing
Corporate Events
Negotiating Salaries
Promoting yourself/marketing

Dance Workshops:

Pre-registration*:
$40 per class
$70 per day
$130 full weekend

At door:
$50 per class
$90 per day
$170 full weekend

EARLY BIRD - Register BEFORE May 19th:
$65 per day
$120 full weekend

Lecture Price:
$40 both days
$25 for one day
$30 for both days IF ADDED to FULL WEEKEND price.

*To qualify for pre-registration, funds must be received no later than 8:00pm on Friday, June 18th.

Registrations are transferrable but non-refundable.

Thanks Carrara!! I'm really looking forward to this weekend, a brand new drum solo, learning to improvise and go within for taqsims, Lebanese combo's to an Ayoub piece, and of course Oriental combo's that can be used anywhere! One of my favorite parts of this weekend is the Professional Dance lecture, it's all the tips, tricks, and lessons about surviving in the real world of belly dance, from my 33 years in this business. It's my way of helping dancers not make some of the mistakes that go along with the business!
