Faten is near there. She offers privates in her house to people she knows and rents out space from Saffron Dance.

Sounds like I'm getting a new neighbor! I live in Alexandria. If your student is in or near the downtown area ("Old Town"), she'll be able to get around well on the Metro train system. Alexandria is on the yellow and blue lines.

I believe Noor-Jihan is still teaching in downtown Alexandria on Monday nights but will double-check for you. She's a beautiful dancer and a lovely, lovely person.

As Samira said, Faten Salama rents out space at Saffron Dance for her Friday night class. It's in Arlington, the next town over from Alexandria, near the Clarendon Metro station (orange line). It's very easy to reach. She does workshops in the area as well, and I'd recommend her to anyone!

On Saffron's regular schedule, I'd recommend any class at any level taught by Katrina or Kostana, in particular veil with Katrina and assaya or finger cymbals with Kostana. Catarina's finger cymbal class is very good, too.

There's a lot of great dance stuff happening in our area. If your student needs any more specific info, please don't hesitate to ask again.

speaking of Saffron- it's an awesome studio.... and now Shahrzad is a main teacher there too... she's simply unbelievalble at dancing AND teaching. Tell your friend to try her out too! She will not regret, I promise :)
