Thread: What's going on in or near Palo Alto, CA?

Hi Ladies,

I'm very likely to take a job at Stanford in the spring, and was wondering what the BD community is like in that area. I'm moving from Michigan, where I'm in a troupe that is heavy on folkloric and Egyptian (dare I say Cabaret?) styles, and I've been teaching for years. I'm quite worried that I'm not going to find my niche in Cali, and I'd step on far too many toes if I ever started teaching, not to mention performing.

Any advice and/or recommendations would be welcomed!

Phew there is a ton of belly dance stuff going on in that area! I'm up in Sacramento, but off the top of my head, Yolanda, Leyla Lanty, Setareh and Sandra teach in Palo Alto as well as Hala and Maria in Santa Clara....Lots of teachers/performers down there but also lots of students, shows and restaurant venues.

I'm sure you'll find you place there. It might just take some time and networking.

A lot of the teachers/performers are Bhuzzers. I'm sure they will have better (more updated) information than what I know.
