Hips (still) Wanted!
Are YOU “Hip Savvy”?

We are looking for experienced bellydancers to join our Tribal Style troupe who can compliment us, both in dance and personality.

We have been performing for over three years in and around the Portland Metro area. Our dance influences include roots in American Tribal Styles, Filipino, Celtic, Indian, Hip Hop, Folk, Hawaiian, and anything else that inspires us! We are open to a wide variety of music. If it makes us want to dance we do it – with a strong Tribal feel and look!

Our troupe is completely collaborative. No single person is in-charge. This means all duties are shared (with each person having one or more specific duties) and all decisions are voted on. We want people who thrive in this kind of unique environment.

We meet in the Portland Metro area (as in Beaverton, Oregon City and SE - currently). We are all willing to travel to each other's house for the meetings - we're willing to car-pool. At the moment we seem to be meeting on Tuesday nights around 7 - 7:30pm, for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Eventually we'd like to find a central meeting location - whenever we know where "center" is and can get said place for next to (if not) nothing - unless we get enough paid gigs to cover the rental.

We perform wherever we get a gig we want to dance at, from Astoria, to the Portland Metro, to wherever. Paid gigs are the goal, but right now we're focusing on getting to know our new members and learning our core choreography.

We've met a few dancers already, but we'd really like to get our membership up to around 7-10 dancers. So you'll probably be seeing this post off and on for a while. If you're not available right now, but still interested, please let us know so we can keep you in mind.
