Wow, it's almost December!

SATURDAY - December 1st, 2007
"Belly up to the Barre" Ballet for Bellydancers with Kimahri
10:30am-2:00pm (w/30 minute break, refreshments provided)

Wonderful things happen when Middle Eastern Dance meets with
ballet! This workshop will feature strength and conditioning through
classic ballet barre exercises, ballet terminology used in MED, emphasis on dance posture, developing and integrating graceful arm movements, center
work and turns. Bring this graceful strength to your dancing!

Workshop is held at the the Oakbrook Terrace Fitness Center, 1
Parkview Plaza, Oakbrook Terrace, IL. Registration is open, call (630)
574-0420 NOW to get your spot! Fee is $38 residents/$45 non-residents. Handouts included. Minimum 6/Max 22 participants

Sounds like an awesome workshop, Kimahri! I've always wanted to put together a ballet workshop for my students, maybe this can be my inspiration!

Wish I were closer too.............this is a great idea...ballet is so useful for every type of dancer.........! It always shows when someone has had ballet.

My apologies to those experiencing difficulties in trying to register by phone--*sigh* the competence level of the staff at the fitness center varies WILDLY. Just to clarify the workshop is definitely ON, there is still PLENTY of room and you can register on a walk-in basis tomorrow morning (please allow 10-15 minutes to take care of payment and paperwork)

i wish i could come. i have a funeral to attend at that time. i was trying to get a ballet teacher to develop exactly this for me. maybe next time u do it i can make it.

what a wonderful idea!
i studied ballet for 12 years and incorporate certain points......
but as a "class"....hmmmm...very good!

Can't say enough about this workshop. I learned so much that can
be incorporated into belly dance (especially posture and arms).
I have never had ballet training in my life and at the workshop
I sure felt like a ballet dancer..g.: .
The whole day was worth my time and more, so if this workshop
comes around again, don't let this pass by ladies, it was awesome.
Thank you Kimahri for offering this and making the day so special
for us.
