The 2011 Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge Hafla Fundraiser to Fight Local Homelessness is:
Friday, August 19th . 8pm +

$15 at the door + a donation gets you:
$10 to spend on drinks/hookahs/cheesecake.
Belly Dance Show
Open Dancing w/ DJ Instant Cash
Live Drum Jam (bring your noise maker & hip scarf!)
& Emergency Preparedness Activities presented by the Zombie Hunters!

Donation: This is a Food+ Drive to help MOH, (Ministry of Hope) a local homeless/jobless outreach in Arlington Heights. Please bring food pantry items! The best items are non-expired, easy open, healthy foods that are ready to eat. (more donation info below)

This is a different kind of Hafla...
there are less performers (There are only 6 performer discounts spots)
which can perform between 10-20 minutes,
no music restrictions,
AND the performers are able to collect tips in the tipping baskets!

Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge does not have food/alcohol for sale.
You can bring food with you ($1 charge)
or they can order food for you ($2 charge)

The performers will have a back room to change & leave their things.
I will supply water & snacks for the performers' changing room &
tipping baskets on the floor during performances.

There is a parking lot & Internet access

Due to the smoking ban in Illinois it is 18 & older.


More Donation information:
The outreach is also in need of bottled water, individually wrapped snacks & drink mixes- like Propel fitness water individual drink mixes, diabetic foods, low sodium foods, fruit cups, Cliff bars, snacks.

Besides food- the outreach is in need of outdoor kinds survival stuff: mess kits & outdoor coking stuff, mosquito nets & bug spray, sunblock, hats, rain gear, wind proof jackets, sleeping pads, small tents, tarps, backpacks, foot care products including: cushion inserts, foot powder, & blister protection; personal care products, shaving razors, deodorant, q-tips, powdered laundry detergent & all sizes of ziplock.

They are also in Great need of gently used clothes & shoes! Socks, undies, T-shirts, & shorts are always needed. Always needed: mens pants (size 29+) & mens shoes (size 8-12). There haven’t been Tshirt donated to the outreach in weeks- they are in desperate need!!
Other items include: bikes & bike products: wheels, pumps & locks. Gift cards for gas, food, or stores. McDonald also has $5 booklets of McDonald Dollars that gives you 5 individual $1 gift certificates- which will help 5 people not only put some food in their bellies, but also gives them the chance to get out of the elements & use a sink/bathroom. Priceless.

So please bring food donations, but also please check your closets to see if you have anything else that might help somebody survive living outdoors. Thanks!!
