Thread: 2008 Monthly Sphinx Haflas (IL)

The monthly Sphinx Haflas continue in 2008!

So I just wanted to share the information:

Sphinx Haflas are the 1st Saturday of each month.
They are designed for the Chicago-area BellyDance Community to network.
(out of town bellydancers are also welcome to perform)
The Haflas are made up of different instructors and their students, solos and groups, veils and sword, 1st time performer to pro, ect. . . .

The Haflas are at:
Sphinx Cafe- 8743 Milwaukee Ave in Niles
(se corner of 14 & 21) 847-967-0030

Admission is $15 and includes:
*Middle Eastern/American food buffet
*BellyDance Show
*Program
*Open Dancing

They are from 7-10pm on the 1st Saturday of the month.
(Please try to arrive before 7pm)

I am limited in the number of performers every month,
so please feel free to reserve your performing spot for any of the 2008 dates.
(sometime students will reserve in advance for holiday break, or instructors will reserve in advance for a date near the end of the choreography class and use the Sphinx Hafla as a 'final class project')

If it is the last thing I do, I am going to make one of these! I'm not sure if I can do January, but maybe February? It's my birthday month!

the January Sphinx Line-Up is FULL
TeeHeeHee, it's full of the December Sphinx Hafla performers
that were kept away by the ice storm!

PS- Galatea, I wasn't able to wear it yet.

Aw, man... I was hoping to be in January's! February I'll be at a wedding in CT... Maybe March?

Now, didn't I see you guys all at the Bellydance Challenge in Oakbrook Terrace? I thought I was obviously huge then...but yes, we have a little dancer and/or drummer due in January. I already have matching galabeeya for us if its a girl. We found out about three weeks after I bought my first really, truly, pro costume from Magda. I hope it still fits after, since I've yet to wear it!

I believe Cat is going unless I wear her out at rehearsal tomorrow during the day. I will try to go easy on her. ,r:; .w.:

I guess we'll figure it out when we get there. Hopefully I won't have to squeeze into the DJ booth with Josh and Zayna. It gets pretty hot in there!
