Thread: Lena Helt, shabiyya of Sweden, coming to US august-take the chance to sponsor

Lena Helt, the shabiyya of Sweden, is going to be in the US before teaching at Azizas august Dreamcamp (19-25th).

If you want a teacher who is fluent in arabic, has lived and worked as a folkloric dancer in Cairo for 12 years and who has knowledge in both the dance and the culture that is rare ro find these days, take the chance to sponsor her while she is in US.

Lena is one of Swedens most saught after teachers who knows all the folkloric styles as well as cabaret style. She is called the shabiyya of Sweden, being the first dancer in Sweden putting the shabi style on the map in Sweden. Lenas ear for the music is something else, and her coreographies are very unique.

Lena has toured all over the world, giving workshops in amongst many countries Chile, Finland, Denmark, Norway and USA. She was the featured teacher at Azizas birthday bash 2010 and Azizas has decided to bring her back to her Dreamcamp in August. One of Lenas former students is DaVid of Scandinavia.

Oh, Lena is amazing. I was lucky enough to take a private class with her in Poland a few years ago and I LOVED it. She is so generous and knowledgeable, and has a VERY keen eye ;)
