Sexy Belly Dancers - REAL women preferred!

"Looking to hire belly dancers for several classy, but sexually charged, events.

- Experienced is nice, but will gladly accept amateurs.
- Sensual belly dancing is what we want, NOT strippers (not that there's anything wrong with strippers, just not what we want here).
- Some events may require nudity, but it will be discussed in advance.

Please have a picture, not neccesarily in your outfit, but at least a face shot when you reply. Prefer Staten Island/Brooklyn/New Jersey, for travel considerations."

Good freaking God. I can only imagine.... many strange and disturbing things. Perhaps the classy sexually-charged events are ones where you dance around like wallpaper - occasionally a bit nude - for some kind of swinger club? I wonder if "real" means "no surgery" or "fat"?

I love how you don't have to have any experience, but also, are not allowed to be a stripper. What if you are a stripper who is also an amateur belly dancer? OH NOES!

I am utterly puzzled by this ad - what exactly ARE these people looking for? Part of me wants to respond just to find out more. But, for what would one need not strippers, but rather potentially nude, real woman, inexperienced, sensual bellydancers for a sexually charged event? All I can come up with is some kinda privately staged harem-phantasy, a rather hideous thought.

Not a performance I can easily forget.

Being that no venue is posted, my guess is that it's probably a swingers club holding member events. They like to think of themselves as elite and classy, from what I hear.

One of my dance colleagues here was contacted about dancing nude and when she demurred was asked if she would perform in costume while the couple were nude. She politely told them she was not comfortable with that and they were very nice about it.

Shira has a great story about dancing for a nudist group.

But sounds like what these people are after is the type of Orientalist experience as described by that "lovely" M. Flaubert.

The Dr. Susan Block Show is looking for a few good bellydancers to be special featured guests on our next exciting cable TV show, our Spring Equinox Purim Bacchanal, on Saturday night, March 22, starting at 10 pm, at our beautiful Internet and cable television studio, art gallery and club known as "Dr. Suzy's Speakeasy" in Downtown LA. We are going to create a “harem” – like atmosphere for this special 3/22 show.

Aww, but at least they'll fall in love with you and be all obsessed about you forever. Just make sure you sweat a lot, cos they want to slurp that off you, and also have a good solid necklace for them to chew on.

This is just disgusting. These types of events and the so called "dancers" who go as bellydancers, give everybody who is working in arabic, middle east, and belly dance a very bad name. Every time I try to book space at a respectable studio I get the dirty looks of "are you kidding" because this is what what they think we do. if you want to be a topless dancer, a stripper, a nudist dancer, more power to u. just don't do it as a form of "bellydance" because it isn't. those of us who take it seriously, and me personally, find it very offensive.

Very Scary. I live in a very "old-fashioned" area. It's hard enough to get gigs now. All we need is "tastefully nude jigglers" reinforcing their WRONG notions. Also, did anyone stop and laugh about how awful bellydancing would look nude! Not an attractive look for the dance.
