$1 Sale - fabric bits, patterns, jewelry, costume making materials, and whatnot. This week only. :-)
Sale is over. Please no more attempting to buy anything. :-) Thank you for the fun!Type: Bra/Belt SetStyle: OtherCostume Size: Not sure of size, or not applicableSeller's Country: USAStatus: Available
My mother and grandmother taught me to never throw anything out, but I've come to the realization that my apartment just isn't that big.
So, I've opened my fabric stash. Some are mid-sized scraps and some are large scraps. For some red, yellow and blue silk, I have yards and yards, but in narrow strips. Some are fancy fabrics, some are vintage, some are pieces of clothing I saved to repurpose. I only photographed the fabric if I thought there was enough to cover an average sized bra and belt, or larger. There are a few mesh pieces that could work well for filling cut outs, and there are some nice lining fabrics. There are a couple pieces I started to sew and lost momentum, for whatever reason. I also emptied my jewelry drawer, so a lot of odd jewelry bits, chains and beads. And there are sewing patterns - I think they are all fully intact, but I haven't opened them up and some are used, so...as is - as is, no returns with everything here. Feel free to ask questions about anything.
So here is the sale. Any one item is $1, for large pieces of full width fabric, $1 per yard. If you want to group things, like a color family of mid-sized scraps, that group can be $1, jewelry, if you want to group, make me an offer, I will probably accept it.
Here is the deal, you have to spend at least $10 for me to ship to you and you pay actual shipping costs - also, you have to pay me via paypal by Thursday the 12th of January 2012 and provide me with your mailing address. Insurance or tracking is optional, but If you opt out and the mail loses your package, don't come after me (the mail has lost 3 or 4 packages I sent in the past, a couple turned up months later). I'll hold on to the receipts for proof that I shipped.
After this week, anything left over or not paid for goes to the good-will, so don't hesitate if you see anything you think you might be able to use.
I made some drawings for ideas of what you can do with these fabrics, and I'll be posting them in this thread, so you might be interested in looking for those.
I'm also going to post a few bits in separate threads that I need a little more than a $1, (like some beautiful saris, some assuit, 3 kuchi pendants, a bra belt, etc) so you can combine shipping if you get any of those. But please, pay me by Thursday at the latest. (I have a deadline for getting my house back in order after this explosion of my stash boxes, gotta keep my family from murdering me. :-)
Here is the link to the dollar album.

oops, I'm assuming you meant this:
1 Dollar Album :: plastic gems - but they look like rhinestones picture by shemsdance - Photobucket
just so you know - it looks great, but the gems are plastic, not real rhinestones, not that anyone would have to know... and I'm guessing there is someone ahead of you....Shems - www.shemsdance.com

Oh I guess SaNoorah beat me to it - but it's for my kidlet's new costume. If she passes let me know!
I'd also like the unfinished skirt purple/teal on page 2, and the collection of grey/silver glitter items on page one. Also let me know what kind of assuit you have and how much you're asking. I need to remake a costume for my daughter and her old bra had brown assuit. But I'd be open to colors!Last edited by Sahirah_Badr; 01-08-2012 at 07:35 PM. Reason: add

Is the red assuit fabric supposed to be in the dollar album? If so I might need to start a list:
Red assuit fabric
Purple coin scarf
how much gold sequin fabric is there? (Eden Eyes asked first)
also interested in how much of the silk fabric there is (Eden Eyes asked first)
119 pink silk, if enough for harems (2 yards X about 40") (Did the numbers change? this is 117 now)
218 boxed watch set
195 (now 193) silver w/rhinestone ring in the center of photo, if it can be worn at about size 7 or smaller, will pass if it's a large size.
247 chunky necklace set
247 stretch ring in w/aqua stonesLast edited by Nazarah; 01-08-2012 at 10:04 PM.

Re: $1 Sale - fabric bits, patterns, jewelry, costume making materials, and whatnot. This week only. :-)
how many yards of the blue, wide red, thin red, pink, and purple silk do you have? and how many of the gold sequin fabric (#129)?
Also, I'm claiming #231, #35, #61, both in #93, the belt-looking thing in #216, the skirt and extra fabric with it in #150, the two bell necklace looking things in #226, the bell anklet in #225, the bikini top in #243, and both anklets in #248 and DONE!!! Phew. Had to force the roommate to look with me and spend money.Last edited by eden_eyes; 01-08-2012 at 08:09 PM.

The vintage assuit I have is cream, I was planning on dying it, but never got around to it. It is one full shawl, one cut in half shawl and one smaller piece that might have been cut from a dress? I wasn't sure how much to ask for the 3 pieces...maybe $100, maybe a little less. They are really nice pieces. I'll post that next.

Re: $1 Sale - fabric bits, patterns, jewelry, costume making materials, and whatnot. This week only. :-)
so you know the purple coin scarf has shed a few coins. I was thinking it could be really great to repurpose it for a tribaret costume, see attached drawing.
you will have to be more specific when you say silk. Maybe give me a color, because I have truckloads of silk, yellow, pink, orange, blues, red, gunmetal, teals, purple, white, hemmed scarves, painted.
Gold Sequin....lets go see... it is about yard in one chunk, approximately, (the biggest piece is two yards long, but not full width for both yards) but it is pretty wide fabric over all, approximately 53" wide, then there are several, good sized smaller chunks, added up it probably add up to a couple of yards. I guess it is on eden eye's list.
So far I have the red assuit and the purple coin scarf down for you.Last edited by shems; 01-08-2012 at 08:42 PM.

In addition to the above I would like to add: 44, 28.
I think that is 14 but I am not certain if someone else had previously claimed for any of the
items on my list.
Once I know if all these are mine and the grand total I will pay. Tomorrow/Monday is optimum for me to check PMs and posts, after that my online time will be limited. No rush for me, just trying to work within your time-frame.

YES, I very much want the gold sequin fabric, if Eden Eyes passes. I started a list and edited as I added things. I refreshed after I added the gold sequin fabric, and she'd already posted, and she'd asked about the silk first as well. Do you have any silk not in narrow strips, other than yellow?
And thanks for the disclaimer, I do still want the purple coin scarf.

She means it's because I had edited my post about wanting the gold fabric before she edited hers to. I would just like one yard of it. That way if she would like some too, it can be shared :D
**EDIT: Actually, I can take less than a yard since Nazarah definitely wants it. I just want enough to make a bra/belt with, so like 1/2 a yard or whatever, that way she can have the most of itLast edited by eden_eyes; 01-08-2012 at 08:48 PM.

Re: $1 Sale - fabric bits, patterns, jewelry, costume making materials, and whatnot. This week only. :-)
Blue silk in varying shades - each piece is approximately 23" wide and each piece is approximately 3 and 1/4 yards long. I have 39 pieces. It is habotai silk. I thought it could be really cool for skirts. (See attached drawing 01).
wide red? Well...most of the red silk is fairly narrow. There are pieces 15" wide, at widest about 23" wide, at narrowest 7" wide. 1 Dollar Album :: I have Yards of this narrow red silk. picture by shemsdance - Photobucket The pieces vary in length and some are very long. the longes 14 yards, approximately, shorter ones around 4-6 yards long. I thought it could be great made into ropes or pieces to make and underskirt for a lace overlay, or it could cover a bra belt, or a million other variations. (See my second drawing.) There are a couple of hemmed red silk scarves as well.
Purple silk, just that one beautiful piece, a little over 1 yard square, with a fleck of gold paint in the corner. http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/.../Stuff_607.jpg the dot doesn't show on the back side. This is a slightly thicker habotai than the other stuff. I also made a drawing for the purple silk. (see drawing 3)
Pink silk - about 9 chunks that are about 20" wide and over 1 yard or 2 long. I have it with about four similar orange silk chunks. see drawing 4
going to put your name on the rest of your list now. :-)Last edited by shems; 01-08-2012 at 09:07 PM.

Re: $1 Sale - fabric bits, patterns, jewelry, costume making materials, and whatnot. This week only. :-)
I think I have around 7 items in my "cart" not counting any silk. I'd like some bright turquoise and navy blue silk, and maybe the pink in 119- whatever Eden Eyes passes on- to fill my cart. Seems like a ton of stuff for $10!!! If you don't mind, I'd like to see what else you post before I check out.
I really hate to have to say it, but it looks like the numbers on some of the photos have changed since you first posted. I thought there were 250 pics, and now there are 248, and some of the photo numbers of the items I'd posted were off by two. I made corrections in my post.Last edited by Nazarah; 01-08-2012 at 10:13 PM.

As per the above post the #s might have changed a bit. I did not list any jewelry, only fabric and 1 unfinished skirt and a jacket. Or that is what I remember. If I need to rework my list due to changing #s please advise.

Re: $1 Sale - fabric bits, patterns, jewelry, costume making materials, and whatnot. This week only. :-)
question "both in #93" I made the mistake of deleting a couple duplicate photos and now the numbers are slightly off. I'll just send you all bell anklets, but both in #93, does that refer to the gold trim on the rolls? 1 Dollar Album :: Stuff_658.jpg picture by shemsdance - Photobucket
Also, the yellow fabric with gold sequins here, which I put on your list: 1 Dollar Album :: Eden Eyes picture by shemsdance - Photobucket - I think there is actually 3 or 4 yards of that, (it is non-stretch). So $1 per yard, gets you over $10 a little faster. I'll re-measure it to see just how much is there.
and it is totally different than this gold sequin fabric: 1 Dollar Album :: Stuff_724-1.jpg picture by shemsdance - Photobucket
which I don't have you down for, but was the stuff I thought you and the previous poster were asking about.
Also, Maura pm-ed me about the black skirt and fabric before your message here, so sorry about that.
You have reached your $10, so I'll sort out shipping and make a pile for you.Shems - www.shemsdance.com

Okay, there is enough pink silk for harems if you you don't mind patching it together. None of the pieces are 40" wide. Pink silk - about 9 chunks that are about 20" wide and over 1 yard or 2 long. I have it with about four similar orange silk chunks. 1 Dollar Album :: pink and orange silk picture by shemsdance - Photobucket
let me know if you want it.
The w/ rhinestone ring doesn't actually have rhinestones, the metal is cut so it looks sparkley like rhinestones. I have no idea about ring sizes...but I'll send it to you anyway (I'll throw it in if you don't need it to get over your $10 limit.) :-)Shems - www.shemsdance.com
