So the Purple and Green Starfish costume arrived beautiful and decked out with gigantic ABS crystals (some over 2" - see the detail photos) But alas, it was also too big for me. I tried to overlap the skirt and bra straps but there is too much overlap and cutting it down would mean losing the beautiful appliqués.
The skirt has five alternating emerald green and deep purple half circle panels for a dramatic sweep during spins.
The bra has a halter as well as two angled over the shoulder straps for an interesting split strap effect.
Bra: Vertical 6 1/2 - 7" at armpit, Horizontal 7", Diagonal 8 1/2"
Ribcage: 39"

Skirt length: 38" (5 half circle panels, very roomy and swirly)

Appliquéd Belt has purple & gold beaded fringe Upper: 42"
Lower: 43" (more if you push into the cupped section)

A napkin to clean up all the drool pouring from my mouth upon seeing this costume.

Though having the costume would also be pretty cool

Wow- that is GORGEOUS!!! The belt would be too big on me but I think my eyes just popped out of my head! The design and the color combination are equally stunning!!!

Just to torture myself: what do you think the practical minimum would be for the upper hip, before the overlap becomes too much and the overlap ruins the design?

It is a pretty striking costume
There is a 4" panel on the left side of the belt that can be easily overlapped before you run into the first applique.
The back of the bra can be overlapped up to 6 1/2" before it would start to angle the shoulder straps. (I needed 9" which was too much)

Thanks. Looks like the bra would be fine, but the belt wouldn't. I've got a 35" upper hip at the moment and am trying to get back down to 33-34". I knew it was a long shot, but this is just so gorgeous!!!

I overlapped the belt 8" but it does cover one of the complex appliqués.

Ooooh! I'm going to try to sell something precious for this I think. :)

Amara, you could buy it for me. Because it would fit me and I love those colors.
