I am selling some items I purchased from Shadiyah, who danced in 23 countries in the 80's. I washed all of these items when they were received. They are black chiffon with flat silver sequins, very SPARKLY! I've been replacing sequins on the front of the skirt with transparent thread, but want to pay for a workshop late summer and so am selling.

All large items (skirt, beledi dress and cape) need sequins replaced, and I have extra fabric that Shadiyah included to harvest the sequins from. It is not hard to sew sequins on, it just takes time! The skirt and cape have slightly larger sequins, while the beledi dress and puffy sleeves share the same sequin size (slightly smaller).

Shadiyah wore these items in Abu Dabai for Omar Sharif's perfume launch in the early 90's (see photos of Shadiyah below)

Would prefer to sell them all together for $125. Shipping not included but fees are.

SKIRT
skirt is sewn on a non-stretchy band of black fabric…it was simply tied in a knot when I received it. Should be reconfigured with an elastic top or top of your choice.
front sequins have mostly been replaced, still needs some at the bottom. Front panel is 1/2 circle, back of skirt is 1 full circle. Length to bottom of points is 36" (I usually wear 37" skirts, see body pic below). Length to "top" of curve is 33", in case you wanted a smooth, even skirt bottom. You can add fabric to the top if you make a proper casing so the skirt could be longer.

BELEDI DRESS
zipper needs replacing, the little thing that goes up and down is gone. Sequins need replacing as well. Will include the puffy sleeves to use to replace sequins, as they share the same sequin size. Need to measure this.

CAPE or COVERUP
There is alot of fabric here, open armpits, 10-12 yards of fabric, bell sleeves, folded down collar. There is a large inset of sequined fabric at the back for twirl factor. Sequins need replacing. Need to measure this.

With just a little bit of work, these items will be stage worthy!!!

Aaaa-maaaze-innnnggg!!! If I were a seamstress who could bring this back to life, I'd so be there! I absolutely adore this!

I think Shadiyah was about my size maybe a little smaller (U.S. size 10???). I was going to make three matching swishy skirts with accessories for our new small troupe out of these things but I have no time, and none for the foreseeable future. All my projects are leaving the nest.
