ALL SOLD - White Silk Un-Dyed, Yardage and Remnants

    Type: Other
    Seller's Country: USA
    ALL SILK SOLD

I'm continuing clearing out my closet and I have some silk yardage and some remnants that I'm not expecting to use.

    Yardage

So, first, the yardage. It is 55" wide 8mm Habotai and I have about 34 yards left. This retails at about $7 to $13 a yard, you can find it for $6 by the bolt.

This weight can be used for veils, but it is a little heavy, so it wont be the light floaty kind. It might be nice for half circle veils where the little bit of extra heft can help them unfurl. Some dancers like the heavier silk, particularly for outdoor gigs. It is also a good weight for a skirt or cape. It has really clean selvage edges. Totally dyeable.

I'll sell it for $4 a yard. You pay shipping.

    Remants

    Next remnants:
I have a lot of white silk undyed remnants that are smaller than veil sized, but would be great for a big scarf, lining, belt / bra base, whatever your pleasure. They are mostly 6mm, some 8mm.

It would be ridiculously time consuming to count out all the pieces, so I'll make grab bags, as much silk as I can stuff into a quart sized zip lock bag and still seal it (which is a surprisingly large amount) for $10 and that includes shipping inside the US.

Examples of what you would find in a grab bag: a smaller piece might be around 30" x 19" a larger one around 45" x 70". I'll toss out anything I think is too small, or if I see any dirt, dye or holes in the middle. These are scraps so some imperfections might slip by me, part of the adventure of a grab bag. :-)

I have 3 grab bags available.

    :-)

The photo was taken at night, but it is as you can see, loads of white silk.

Oooh, I have an 8mm that I love, but it's black, and I can't use it with too many things.

I'll take a 3yd piece (at least), and maybe a grab bag. How much to ship to 55076?

Grab bags are they the same width? I would potentially sew them together to make a looooong piece....

Off topic a bit, I apologize. I attended a lovely wedding with unusual fabric draped throughout the space. Being a fabricholic I had to ask where they found the gossamar material. Amazing stuff - and creative. The bride and her priced nylon net and cheese-cloth, both were price-prohibitive. They contacted a disposable diaper source and ended-up purchasing a roll of the absorbent lining material. I do not know what they spent but they were delighted with the price-point, the overall look was awesome.

I was fixing to put an order in at dharma...The 8mm half circles are now $26.99 each there. I could use 12 yards, Shems.

If my math is correct all the yardage is sold. If I am incorrect we would like to purchase enought to make at least one 1/2 circle veil, preferably two. Slightly over 3 yards or slightly over 6 yards, depending on availability, of course.

Yep, all the yardage is spoken for and then some at this time. I have to figure out some things, I'll let you know if some yards become available.
