Re: Swap Meet "Rules"
I just wanted to add an idea I just had. What if after purchasing an item from someone and receiving it we use the guest book feature as a way to leave "feedback" ebay style. It's not perfect. Obviously someone who rips people off will delete negative entries or disappear or what-not, but it will at least show which Bhuzzers have a history of good transactions.

Re: Swap Meet "Rules"
Can sellers ship the item in a reasonable amount of time please? If a buyer sends the money via paypal immediately, the seller should ship the item within 24-48 hours. Not wait over a week to ship it without telling the buyer. If the seller cannot ship the item immediately the seller should tell the buyer right away.

Re: Swap Meet "Rules"
Paypal doesn't transfer money immediately into the recipient's account, unfortunately. It usually takes a few days. Your concept is a good one, however; it would be helpful if the seller kept the buyer informed as to when the money cleared the account, and when the item was shipped. That's just good business.

I love my Euro sisters but lately, the US Swap Meet has seen a huge influx of European costumes for sale.
It kills me to get excited about a post and then I see that it's totally out of my price range because of international exchange rates and shipping.

Re: Swap Meet "Rules"
I have no idea what to do. I bought a bedlah from someone in the Bhuz US swapmeet, and only a bra arrived, no belt. The seller charged $35 for shipping and the stamps make it obvious that they didn't pay that at all. I'm so upset, but I don't want to name them till they've had a fair chance to respond. I bought something from Raheldancer recently and that was such a smooth and good experience, I was caught off guard by this subsequent horrible experience. What have people done under these circumstances in the past? I guess in terms of the rules, it's just buyer beware.

Re: Swap Meet "Rules"
Hi, Sabbi -- there is a forum called "vendor/buyer" concerns ..... that would be a good place to post this--someone may know the seller. Have you tried contacting the seller to see if there was a mistake of some kind? So sorry this happened to you; most Swap Meet transactions are really great here. Hope it gets resolved.

Re: Swap Meet "Rules"
OK That is the last time I ever consider selling to a newb on the forums (newb with only a handful of posts, others becoming involved in the community are fine). I've had 2 of these types approach me about a costume I'm selling and promised to pay, said they wanted the costume, were excited about it, etc. So I held the costume for weeks for one of them... never heard from her again.
I held the costume for another gal for a couple days and also never heard from her again. So for my own sanity, I'm only selling to bhuzzers who are involved in the community, and I'm never holding anything for anyone again unless she's an established bhuzzer. Oy!

Re: Swap Meet "Rules"
I'm so sorry that this happened to you, it could happen to any of us
. I've had a very few not too nice experiences where I received the costumes on worse shape that mentioned by the seller. But nothing close to this
.
I hope this doesn't make you forget about the great bhuzzers, the ones that make us keep coming back. Hope everything turns out Ok for you!

Re: Swap Meet "Rules"
What do you think about this???
I recently bought a "Saroyan" sword from some one and it arrived with no Saroyan stamp on it. the engraving doesn't look like the current Saroyan's my troop members have but it has the shape and balance of the Saroyan's. The engraving looks like the Knights Edge copies but it is very detailed. The seller insists it is a Saroyan and she bought it in the early nineties. I called the Saroyan site and they say they have ALWAYS stamped the Saroyan Mastercraft stamp on their swords. I think I just paid $200 for a knock off, granted a very good knock off. This would be discouraging since this is the first time I've bought anything on BHUZ and may be the last! Any ideas?
