Thread: Hawaii & Puerto Rico??

Ok..I have some trips coming up...want to see what will be going on there if possible!

Hawaii..I will be there next weekend over Easter...18-24th possibly.

Then to Puerto Rico...I used to live there but it has been a very long time since I have been back there...if anyone knows any cool places to see dancers...let me know!

And then by the middle of April....I should have a rockin' tan!..g.:

I dunno any cool places to see dancing in PR, but you could get a massage from my sister who's living and working in San Juan :-)

This are the more popular ones.Although i have not been in them for some months,my favorite one for the dancers is El Cairo,and second runner up Jerusalem.

You can call to check in advance for the performing hours,but most never dance before 9pm.

Are there any dance festivals in Page Ranking? Some of my family members just moved there and I'm going to visit.

Bellydancing festivals in Puerto Rico? ,not that i know of at least at the moment.

Hi Tanya - are you going to be on Oahu? There is a restaurant called the Pyramids on Kapahulu, a few blocks north of the zoo in Waikiki. I think Renee is still the lead dancer there - reneearn at hawaii dot edu is her email address.
And another place that I heard has dancers is Che Pasta. Willow Chang would be a good person to check with - willowchang at hotmail dot com.
I know there is a pretty good scene there, as far as instructors and workshops but I'm not sure about any other performance venues.

Just wanted to thank Sashy for her wonderful suggestions! I got to go to El Cairo for dinner and it was lovely! The had 2 girl dancers and a young boy who was excellent!
It was fun to see what the dancers are like there and they are really good!
I know one of the girls said she doesn't normally dance there regularly...her name was Samira!

We went on business and a little vacation........I forgot how nice the beach is! I used to live there..and will be back to work at some point. It looks like the belly show I am working on, will tour and Puerto Rico may be our first stop.

Ohhh,im sooo glad you enjoyed my suggestions,Tanya.It´s great to learn is not only me thinking the dancers in this restaurants are pretty good.Once i was sooo impressed with one of the very young dancers there i wanted to book her for private lessons,but since it seems they rotate the dancers i could not get much info on this special dancer.Maybe she could be the Samira you mention.
