Thread: Dubai??

Hi..I know I need to search around...there was some other info, I thought, on Dubai! Looks like I will be there performing in a show for 2-3 weeks this summer. Would love to get the info on the dance scene if possible. I know beautiful Soirse was there for awhile....
Any fun???

You lucky thing....you know you must do some shopping while you are over there and bring back lots of costumes to sell back here on BHUZ!!!!

I have a friend who just headed for Dubai. Not a dancer, and English professor ... most likely a teaching gig. We didn't have a chance to talk before he left, so I still don't have the full story. I'm sooo jealous of both of you!! What a fabulous adventure!!

Yeah...I love to travel...I feel very fortunate to do what I love and see the world all at once! Hope I can find some dancers there....we'll see!

Well, I can't tell you about the dance scene but I can tell you it's so beautiful. It's been 12 years since I was there but you'll like it. Let me tell you in advance, get ready to see alot of men walking around holding hands. That was the one thing that took me aback. EVERYONE I came across was very polite and nice to me. I don't have any negative memories. I'm sure it's even more beautiful 12 years later with all of the building going on.

I was there with the military and we didn't have to wear the abaya or anything. We went out in regular civilan clothes and had a wonderful time.

Thanks Michelle...I am really looking forward to going...We turned down 3 contracts to Dubai before because of other obligations...so hopefully I will finally get there!
