Hi Monsoon dancer,
I'll be attending, teaching (DIY Shaabi) and workshopping. I am hoping to do some more classes with Dr Hassan Khalil... he was in perth last year and taught a wicked melaya!
What are you booked into?

I havent booked my classes yet, but sooo many to choose from! I see your class on their too. Kiri and I are both going and we are trying to go in different classes so we get double the workshops essentially to bring back to Monsoon nights :) I s your mum coming along-silly question right :)

Well actually... she is taking her turkey tour at that time so she won't be there :-( I'll be running the bazaar instead (deep breath)

Re: Anyone going to WAMED in Sept????
It'll be smaller this year at WAMED mainly because we are doing the Grande Bazaar for our fest Aus Oriental Intensive in June (plug plug: Bellydance Central - Australia Oriental Dance Intensive ) and because at that time of year we can't get some of our bigger vendors.
There will still be a few larger commercial type vendors plus local designers... it's really like a big bellydance swapmeet. But rest assured it's always one of the biggest in Australia... usually so packed that it's hard to get around which is why I am looking forward to the smaller one this year.
Sellers to keep an eye out for would be Azzura's hand dyed silk veils and Lisa Layal (of Raqs Harissa) launched her own couture cossies last year and I am looking forward to seeing her newest designs. Sheik to Sheik also have been sourcing costumes from a new Egyptian designer so that's cool too. Me personally, I like scrounging around in the second hand stalls... rifling through bargain bins for treasures ;-)
