    Dancing in PA - Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton

I'm visiting my parents tonight (Monday July 7) in the Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton region of PA and I would love to see some dancing. Is anyone performing or know where someone else is? Even if not tonight, I visit often enough that I would love to know where to see a show.

    Thanks!

Hi Leyla - check out my website, Philly Raqs - I list restaurants that feature dancing in the greater Philly area, including Allentown. I think your only bet may be the Aladdin in Allentown though there are a few places in Harrisburg as well. (But I think Harrisburg might be a bit of a long drive for you.)

There are a few Bhuz members from those areas here as well - Helena and Khaleela may be able to offer some additional information.

Thank you so much! Harrisburg is a bit of a drive, but I pass through on the way to and from, so maybe I can plan to make a belly dance stop on one of my trips.

Fatima is right. Aladdin is the only restaurant in the area that offers dancing on a regular basis. Her website is your best bet when looking for local things between here and Philly and beyond.

You can always message me before you come and I can let you know if there is a show or hafla happening at the time that normally wouldn't be advertised.

Thanks! I'm going to add you to my friends list so I can do that. Also, maybe you can help me find a teacher in the area for my mom. She took a class and loved it, but I think the class was cancelled or something. Do you have any suggestions for a beginner hobbyist?

    Thanks again!

For beginners or hobbyist I would suggest Tahya or Amala Gameela. Each lady has a totally different approach to teaching so your mother may want to try a drop in for both of them to see which better suits her. There is also Tasha in Easton if your mother doesn't mind the drive.

Great! Thank you so much! I'm going to email these to her now and she will be thrilled.
