Thread: Las Vegas Aug 14 - 17

I'm going to be in Las Vegas for a weekend for an event unrelated to dance. However, I'd like to sneak in some dance while I'm there. I know that I'm going to be missing the big event in Vegas by a few weeks, but I'm hoping that maybe something else will be happening between Aug 14 and 17. I'd really really like to take a workshop or maybe just drop in on a good class. Does anyone have some suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, I dont' know what else is going on. I'll actually be at Ya'Halla Y'All, myself. I am sure there is dancing at the Marrakech. I'll let Aradia speak up on that one.

Oh good news! Tabu is hosting Tribal Nights at the Greek Village Cafe featuring our local artists "New World Rhythmatism". They are great!! This event is usually PACKED, and I highly recommend you call for reservations or you won't get a seat. Currently there is no charge, but the menu prices are around $20-$30/plate. Wine, $7/glass. Appetizers, $8-$12. It is good food.

yes, Tribal night is a blast, great food, great dancing!! If you want to see Oriental then go to Marrakech, we have dancing 7 days a week, and 2 dancers on weekends. Marrakech - Marrakech - Home. Great atmosphere and food as well!!

I'm looking for a learning experience more than I'm looking for a spectator experience. There aren't many Oriental style teachers in my area and I was hoping to use this as an opportunity to broaden my knowledge base. The Marrkech seems to be an easy walk from the hotel for me, though, so I'll drop in for a show one evening. Thanks again for the suggestion ..g.:

I teach privates at Marrakech during the day for out of town dancers, because it's so close to the strip, they don't need a car, they can usually take a taxi or walk, just remember it's hot here!! If you are interested in a private let me know, I have the 14th open!
