Thread: Mona in Dallas in August

who's going? i'm planning on it.

I'm gonna try to do it, depending on if we're smack in the middle of moving or not...

I will definitely be there for Mona . . . and Dr. Mo, Randa, Khadijah (Moroccan Dance), Tamra Henna (CA) . . . other than Mona, I am not sure which classes I will take . . . but I am definitely doing both of Mona's!!! I would like to take a class from everyone, but, naturally, schedules conflict . . . so I have to make some choices . . but MONA is the biggy! ..g.:

Thinking about it. It will depend on my other travel and study commitments for hte rest of the year. . .

What can I say, being in Grad School and having to take a 17 year old all over the world for Uni interviews, ah the joy!

Once you have seen the DVD, let us know how good it is. It is a long way to go to Norway too . . . but maybe, if the quality is good and it doesn't cost too much (including shipping), the DVD can do the traveling.

AND, Carolynn, I guess you will be stuck with me again!!

My company was invited to perform in the show friday night, however, one of my company members is in a serious masters program over the summer, so we won't see her until September, a few have no money, so, if I don't end up going to Suzanna's dance camp, I will schlep to Dallas all by my self! *sniff*
SO, we're saving up for the next dee dee show and we'll be paying for tickets out of our company fund - hopefully we will make plenty of money over expenses for our Delilah sponsorship and show september 8th.....
*sigh* money....

if suzanna doesn't happen, i'll probably go with.

I am 95% there, planning to take care of registration and plane tickets by the end of this weekend.

I am trying to plan flight schedules. Does anyone know how far the airport in Dallas is from the hotel?

I think the airport is between 25-30 miles for the hotel. Airport is between Dallas and Ft. Worth (hence, DFW International Airport) with the hotel being more towards the east side of Dallas. If you rent, a car it is a straight shot east on 635 from the airport, then 2 or 3 exits south on 75. There might also be a shuttle from the hotel. You should check with the hotel about that.

I already PM'd you about my house guest situation . . . so I hope someone out there needs a roomie!! I might even know someone that needs one, but she is out of town right now . . . so I don't know what her plans are.

I'm trying to figure out if its feasible to make a 7:45 flight out on Sunday night after the workshops. It's just a little cheaper and would save me an extra night in the hotel, but it sounds like it may be difficult...

Sunday night I can definitely help you . . . so let me know if you need a place to crash for one more night to get a better flight out on Monday! But I warn you . . . rush hour traffic in the morning on 635 going west towards the airport can be horrible!!!

I usually take SuperShuttle if I am not driving/parking my car at the airport. It is cheaper than a taxi but you have to plan for them to pick you up about 2 hours ahead of your flight. I think they charge about $27 from my house.

And it is OK for Sunday night . . .

Errr, folks, apparently, Mona Said will not be in Dallas - there's a letter on Gilded Serpent today from Mona apologizing that she won't be there. I've e-mailed Nora at Little Egypt, because she is still listed on their website as being one of the workshop teachers. I asked Nora if they are doing any schedule changing or adding another teacher if Mona isn't there. I'm sure I will still have lots of workshops to go to, but hate to miss Mona!

I think Dee Dee is still in Cairo . . . so I'd wait to see what will happen.

I'd hate to miss Mona too!!! I was really looking forward to her coming back to Dallas ..cr.:

I won't be able to attend because I will be on vacation, but I thought of altering my plans to fit a visit to TX, but I'm not doing that. I would have possibly done that for Mona, but glad I didn't, especially if she is saying that she won't be in Dallas. What a shame. But Randa is still worth studying with for those of you who haven't studied with her.
