Dec. 22 - Latifa teaches North African Dance at Sahara - Sahara Dance | Belly Dance Workshops (many other workshops here, too)

I'll be teaching a workshop at Sahara Dance on Jan 24th - Introduction to Gulf Dance.

Good to know. I was looking for this last night and couldn't find it. Even raqsamerica.com doesn't have the new dates!

ETA: I checked the BDSS site and don't see any workshops with the Hampton performance (so far), but did find a date for their D.C. show - March 3. GW Lisner Auditorium

Ooooh - Amir Thaleb! He's WONDERFUL. If I can hoist my by-then seven months pregnant self off the couch, I'll be there! I took an advanced workshop with him in Orlando, and it ranks up there with one of the best I've ever taken.

I did not see any BDSS workshops in VA on the schedule on the Bellydance Superstars website (I think there was something in NC, though), nada also on Janna's International Dance myspace (who would be my primary suspect for hosting). We must have been posting at the same time! I just checked the site to check on the workshop status. I'll check later, too, because sometimes they add workshops. I did already spot the Issam workshop - Chandani is good about posting her events on several Yahoo groups - but thanks for including it.

Keep 'em coming! It's nice to have the info in one place. I'll keep editing my original post.

Oh my gosh, I'm hoping for it! She was here last month and I went. I hope she comes back to Maryland! I heard a rumor that she is coming back, but I've haven't heard anymore. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Whew! I hope that my little, old car will be up for repeated trips to DC over the coming year.

I know chances are slim - but, any Bhuzzers up for a crash space trade with Pittsburgh for some of these events? We're not exactly a happening place for bellydance, but it's a great city otherwise ;-)

Hmmm, I'll be teaching a workshop in Manhattan in June, doing a show in upstate NY the week before that, I try to spend a few weeks on the east coast, maybe I can make it to the area if anything falls within June 19-29th. That event at the Kennedy Center looks awesome. I would love to live in your area if the weather wasn't so damn cold!!!

Kiyaana, Thank you for putting this together! Do you mind if I copy & share?

Tiraz Dance Network will be hosting a workshop at the Reston, VA Sport and Health Club on 3/1/09. I don't want to name the instructors yet because we don't have signed contracts, but we are planning on Egyptian, Turkish and Persian classes. We have named the workshop "A Kaleidoscope of Cultures".

I will come back with the instructor names when I get the "OK" to advertise. I can tell you that the pre-registration price (prior to 2/15) for 3 hours of instruction will be only $30 for both members and non-members!

Also, we will have our 3rd Annual Convention in Purcellville, VA on 5/16/09 at the Carver Center. It will be hard to top last year's event, but I bet we will!

I am so happy to see that there isn't anything listed for those dates yet!

Oh how wonderful, guys! I will be back in the ole' US of A in August and I can't wait to get dancing again! The community up here (Northern Japan) is very small and very cliqueish... and all tribal! I need me some Egyptian!
I am so excited because my boyfriend will probably do his residency in Bethesda and I'm so excited to be near a real Belly Dance town!
