Khaleegy workshop at Sahara Dance (DC) Jan 24th
I'll give a short presentation on the history and cultural context of this lovely African-nuanced folk dance, teach traditional steps and combinations, and then show students how to adapt these movements to provide variety in an oriental performance. Please bring a thobe if you have one. If you don't have one, bring a veil. Suitable for all levels.
