Thread: Anyone going to Dallas this weekend?

I am flying in Thursday morning and leaving super early on Monday. I am also dancing in the show Friday night!! Anyone else traveling to Dallas and attending the workshops? I am so excited!!!!

I'll be there for the troupe competition! :-) Then I have to go out of town! I am so- mad to miss it again this year! August is just a bad month!

Yes, I'll be there from Thursday afternoon around 4 p.m. to Monday around noon and I'm dancing in Friday show (I think it's Friday but will find out when I get there and drop off my music on CD's) I'm so excited too! Even though I will still have to wear my big, black ankle brace during the workshops (you may remember me, I'm Nisima of the "Nisima vs. the bus" thread - fell out of bus onto sidewalk and sprained ankle badly).

So I'm all packed and the only variable was what to wear on feet for show. At first I was convinced that my 1.5" ballroom silver sandals would be best but they broke during a practice! And the 2" ballroom silver sandals are gorgeous but keep pitching me sideways (not a good thing, I assure you!). For five minutes of dancing on a good stage, bare feet is the best and most stable solution and I can easily wear a flesh-colored thin ankle brace just to be on the safe side.

I'm very happy with the line-up of workshops; DeeDee did a great job and esp. getting Magda El Leisy to fill in for Mona Said.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to meeting more Bhuzzers in Dallas! I'll be the average height, sort of curvey, curly brown haired dancer with the black brace on right ankle so easy to spot!..g.:

Little Egypt hasn't posted the line up for the competition on their website this year as they usually do.

i'll be there! i'm getting in late on thursday and leaving early monday. knucklehead here didn't realize there was something going on thursday night, i hope to catch the end of the competition.

Oooooh, lotsa red hair! Will do, Damiena! I'll be wearing a curly dark auburn fall (like that is unusual) but also have some smallish tattoos; probably the most visible ones might be the blue lotus over left boobage and flaming blue lotus on upper back; depends on what I'm wearing! Hmmm, plenty of dancers have tats these days........ oh well, I'm sure we'll run into each other; it is not a huge place.

I will, alas, be in PHX teaching a weekend of workshops and doing a teevee appearance.
