Thread: Going to Egypt with Morocco June 24-July7

I'll be there. I'm going to New York a few days early to check out the scene. Anyone going to Cairo?
Or to the Ahlan Wa Salahn Festival with another group?

I'll be there! and another troupemate too :) I'm glad you posted... I kept wanting to, but couldn't decide when was "not too early"!

Are you going on the cruise as well or the regular portion?

I have been trying to wait too but no one from my troupe is going now so I wanted to find out already.
No i'm not going on the cruise. I'm afraid i'll be too tired and want to go home by then. I'm sure after the festival we'll be pooped.
But i've never been before so I don't know.

Not going to Egypt this year but I'll be spending time with she and Tarik next month and I'm sooo excited...
Aunty Rocky and Tarik Sultan are incredible...you have to meet them. I can't stress it enough!

i've met them both. at the belly dancers of color conference in dc 2 years ago. tarik is the headline teacher this year. they are great. i'm so excited about the trip

I'm going on the cruise, but won't get there in time for the festival. (I'm teaching a workshop in Lincoln, Nebraska on June 30.)

I would be nice to meet. If you have time and wan t to do a day trip to Alexandria, there is Mahmoud Reda show in Alexandrian library in 1st-3rd oh June. I wrote about in a thread somewhere. I think that is great opportunity.

I'm going with the Scheherezade Imports tour -- can't wait! It's been too long since I was in Egypt.

I'll be there to see you when you arrive. It'll be fun to meet there. I'll be in Cairo from June 20 through July 16 and definitely will be at Ahlan Wa Sahlan every day - teaching zills there too.

Heyyyy I'm gonna be at Cairo also from 22 June, and I just love to meet again Morocco.
So maybe we can do a meet up when you are back at Cairo? (leaving at 26 back to Athens)

Hi Maria,
Morocco will arrive on the 25th, according to the itinerary on her website http://www.casbahdance.org (click on trips), so meeting her may be impossible. She'll be at the Mena House for the week of the festival.

I'll be watching these pages while I'm there in order to connect with people.

I'm super excited. We leave Sunday. This is my first trip to Africa. I"m almost all ready to go.

I'm back. it was quite an experience. I loved it and at the same time I was ready to come home.
