Thread: Madison (and maybe Milwaukee and Chicago) for winter holidays.

I haven't been to my hometown in four years and I've been MIA for Wisconsin winters for 8 lovely years. This year I will be back in Madison, Wisconsin from December 22-January 3rd

Now, I don't expect that anyone is actually having any bellydance events at these times...but I do wonder who might be up for grabbing coffee and bd-geeking out. I will for sure be in Madison and may be making side trips to Milwaukee (I have friends there from high school and from my MIAD days) and perhaps Chicago.

I'll also be bumping this closer to the date...I just wanna get a feel for who is where.

Hi, Ozma! I live in Northern Illinois, right on the border of Illinois-Wisconsin; work closer to Chicago, but I teach bellydance up in Kenosha, WI...so basically, I'm all over both states!!! I'd love to get together some time and bd-geek out and/or drive us around in my "little mean green machine" nifty l'il Rav4 (Hehehe--totally a joke in my head b/c my car's been all over the Midwest in the name of Bellydance:)). I go to both Chicago & Milwaukee quite a bit, and Wisconsin Dells and Madison occasionally... for you, sure! :) Lemme know...

I´d be game. I´m an hour and a half from any of those locations (or less)

A reminder that I will be back in Madison, WI from December 22-January 3rd. Planning what I shall do when in the homeland is helpful, as it allows me to not focus on OMFG it’s gonna be COLD isn’t it? AAAUUUUGH!

Performing while home isn’t going to happen. The only gig we could get for me was 3 times on NYE and I suspect most people will be going to parties and such…and that I’d like to be going with them.

I've asked my family and Madison friends to start emailing me their schedules so I can work out my schedule.

Also, I’d like to know who is in Chicago and Milwaukee and would like visits and when.

I have a few close friends in Chicago, so that's looking like a reality...I've asked my friends who are thinking of venturing to Chicago if they might want to give me a life (so I don't spend my break driving by myself... I haven't driven in 4 years now...much less in snoe) or for info so we can figure out half-way points for me to rest and socialize or...Ozma relay driving.

That will be too close to christmas for me. After Christmas I may come down to Chicagi with my mom for some sightseeing, and then remain behind and flit from friend to friend (and I will be hella jetlagged on the 23 and in no condition to drive myself) I will keep you updated.

Please let me know for after Christmas meetups--I'm happy to offer my driving services in the "L'il Mean Green Machine" from my half-way vantage point :)) ..g.:

I will! It looks like an Ozma Relay might be possible. It may be a mom-trip to Chicago (need to figure out what exhibits or photography-worthy events are going on, eitehr keeps me and my mom entertained). Local friends and transport, and then some relay action!

I'm waiting to hear from friends in Chicago (as to when a visit is best for them) and if the 26th falls within good times for them...I'm there!

Ozma...I'm 2 hours away (or less) from Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago. Let me know if you need a ride anywhere...as long as I have no plans...I can pick up and drop off. I have friends in all of those places.

I've packed a fixer-upper.

Maybe I'll get a chance to meet you...maybe our paths will cross...nonetheless, have a good trip in (and back home).

I may try to make the 26th show in Shaumberg. Regardess I will be coming to Chicago, just not sure when, probably two days.

Ok guys, I'm getting to be on a normal schedule...I'm trying to move things around so I have two days in Chicago or a day to drive to Milwaukee n' back or ride along to midway to Chicago and back (I don't wanna drive a whooooooole lot).

28th/29/30/early 31...when might be good for people so I can start cross referencing with other friends?
