anyone going to potrero this weekend?

Wow I haven't been to Potrero since 1999... Hahaha wow! Thats where my husband and I started dating back before we tied the knot. Have fun! Come back and tell me all about it!

i hadn't been since the early 90's either but went last may and got hooked again :)

Portrero? Portrero outside San Diego? What's going on there? I live in Boulevard and havent' heard of anything happening over there. Details please. ..g.: I might be able to make it

My parking permit arrived in the mail today. I have to finish loading my van Thursday, and will be leaving early Friday morning.

it is like a live-in/ camp-in ren faire but the time period is a little pre-ren

the best part of course is the drumming and dancing!
it is open to the public for the day and evening and you can hang out for dancing and drumming at night.

its pretty fun but will be super hot this weekend

Sounds like so much fun! Might have to come down after class on Sat. It's only about 30mins from me.

Yes, unfortunately it's going to be hot. I'm not looking forward to unloading and loading everything for the weekend. I'll be getting there early Friday morning.

sorry you couldn't make it. it was so much fun. we danced every night to huge drum circles, until our feet couldn't take another step.

met lots of nice people too. stocked up on honey mead. my bf finally took some beginning drum lessons yay!

it was super hot. i brought lots of battery operated fans and hid them in my tent so as not to be visibly oop. passed out more ice water than any other event ever. even the dogs were licking ice all weekend.

al- samood performed on sat. night in the open ramada and had open dancing. they did the six armed monster thing where they all drummed simultaneously on a huge drum. all the dancers got up at once and we had so much fun!

they said their new cd will be out in feb. must keep an eye out for it.

there was about 1/3 the people of may war and some of the vendors were not happy about it. but those of us who were there bought our fair share. i got a faux amber neck piece that looks pretty darn real by the fire light.

now i have to go to about 7 loads of laundry! ..c:: but it was worth all the clean up work. we had a great time. maybe you and your husband will come out to may potrero war?
over all it was hot, humid, sweaty, exhausting and loads of fun.
