Tis true! Our festival performances spots on Saturday are now full. Sunday is more than half full. I suspect that our entire festival will be full by the end of May if not sooner. If you are intending on performing but you haven't filled out the online form, then you should consider registering today!

We would like to thank Mher of the Hollywood Music Center for giving us the music rights to this fabulous piece of music by Dr. Samy Farag. Visit Hollywood Music Center to purchase the CD, Midnight Magic.

Technically, we've past our early-bird deadline; however, our IT Director had surgery and hasn't been able to change our shopping cart due to her recovery. As a result, we are going to honor any early bird full package registrations until June 25th.

We are also super excited that our Saturday and Sunday morning yoga warm up sessions are going to be taught by Swami Ramananda. He's our local yoga teacher to the stars, and even Elton John has attended his classes. Read more about him here: Swami Ramananda. ..g.:

Also, we have a couple of new vendors that will be at the 2010 Bazaar. We are thrilled to welcome "Shiny Sparkly Things" who will be vending glorious jewelry and "Geisha Moth" who will be selling tribal fusion couture. Visit our vendor page for more info on our shopping experience.

Additionally, we are excited to have master percussionist, Richard Kashanski, joining our teaching staff. He will be teaching in our new drum track. This particular group of classes is going to be great and has classes that are focused on exploring the interaction between drummer and dancer. :thumbs_up:

We are very lucky to have Cera Byer joining us as a member of the choreography team. Cera will be teaching the contestants the fusion choreography for the contest as well as helping run the auditions on Thursday night of the Intensive.

Cera Byer holds a degree in Dance from SFSU and has taught at high schools, studios, workshops, and retreats around the US and abroad. Her technical approach comes from continuing exploration into Graham, Horton, and Dunham techniques, alongside Kathak, Persian, Bellydance, Hip Hop, Funk, and Afro-Caribbean traditions, but her choreography is anything but a dry academic approach to fusion. Cera's work has been called "a hot sweaty tribute that will have audiences and dancers alike moving and moved by the material", and "organic evolving studies into the biospheres of human emotion". Cera owns and operates Shoebox Studio in San Francisco and is the founder and director of Damage Control Dance Theater.

Fahtiem's Class--Spicy, Sassy Traveling Combos (Oriental)--on Saturday September 11 from 1:30-3:00pm is sold out, yo! This does not mean the whole weekend is gone, but it is a good time to make sure you've secured the classes you want. The next two that are close to selling out are Princess Farhana's Thursday Class and Aradia's Friday Class.

Just giving you a head's up that our room block at the Flamingo is technically FULL. I am doing my best to secure more rooms and will post here should that happen. If we cannot secure more rooms at the Flamingo, we should be able to get rooms across the street at Bally's. I'll post an update as soon as I have one.

The Flamingo has given us a small extension on the room block. Please book now. Reservations Office at 1-800-835-5686 (on or before the cut off date of Monday Aug. 6th), and identify yourself as an attendee of the Bellydance Intensive using Reservation ID "SFBI10".

It's amazing to be more than a month away from the Intensive and to have nearly filled our festival performance spots. Even with expanded hours, there is still not enough time in the day.

If you would like to perform at the 2010 Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive & Festival, then please do not delay. We are very near to closing our performance registrations.

The added rooms in our hotel room block are nearly full. If you haven't done so, please reserve your hotel rooms now. There are only a few spots left and our cutoff date is tomorrow.

Despite the 60-80% humidity and my lack of air conditioner in my dance room, I have been drilling 1-2hours night despite asthma triggered by the air-quality here.

And I really miss western breakfasts.

And I haven't been in an English speaking country in 9 months.

That really depends on how the jet-lag manifests...sometimes I have insomnia for weeks.

Gracious...I am so sorry it has taken me so long to check in on this thread. Some of you may have heard that 4 days after the event was over, my husband Bart, had a heart attack and wound up in the ICU. The good news is that he is home and doing well. Needless-to-say, I've been a bit preoccupied. I'm glad to finally be settling into the routine again. I have so much follow up work from the event, and I'm buried in emails...so if you haven't heard from me, please be patient. I'll get there.

I want to thank all the Bhuz folks who came to the event. It was a treat to meet so many of you in person this year. My only wish would have been to have had more time to go to the Liberace museum with you and lounge by the pool.

Here's a few of my favorite "What Happens In Vegas, Happens at the Intensive" memories:

--Princess Farhana telling dirty jokes to my conservative Dad. Hahahaha (way to go Princess)

--Eating Momo at the Mint Indian Bistro (ahem, yeah! hahahaha)

--Naughty photo ops with Fahtiem and the life-sized Donny Osmond cutout. ROFLMAO.

--Lotus Niraja at 3am in line at the Burger Joint..(is that really you?)

--Backstage shots of Vodka (thanks Princess!!) & Toni's flask! Whoot!

--OH! I really appreciated Coronas and limes!! Thanks Paul!

--And I was uber excited to meet Samira Shuruk. We've shared a name for so long!

--Walking down the hotel corridor to my room and watching 5 sexy dancers strutting towards me (mostly Kamuda girls, I believe). It was a very Charlie's Angels sort of moment. Hahahaha.

--Oh yes...and AMAYA!! Her performance was the final one of the whole weekend, and it was breathtaking. And then everyone getting up and dancing to the live music from Of The Earth!! Definitely one of the best moments ever!! Not just at this event...but ever!
