Thread: Bellydance in Las Vegas

I will be in Vegas sept 16-21.

Can anyone recommend a place to go see bellydancing? Or classes? Are there any special events going on during that time?

Of course shopping also! I am also interested in bead shopping!

Hi Audra!
I got your e-mail as well...pretty much all that is happening at that time during the week is Marrakech.(My old stomping ground)...they are the only place with dancers every night. There isn't much shopping in the bead area either...it is too bad...we need it. I am planning on opening a shop soon with supplies and costumes...so when you get back here.................
ANGELA is who I recommend for classes...and she may be able to fit in a private or 2. I will e-mail her number! I will be here getting ready for a trip to China...so maybe we can meet up for a drink or something to say "hi" in person"! If I think of anything else, I will let ya know...

Oh shucks...you are just missing the Intensive. Bummer. I don't know of anything happening that weekend; however, you can always check http://www.bellydanceintensive.com/p...p_uevents.html for upcoming local Vegas events if you get back to town.

As far as beading... there is a great little shop on Decatur/Flamingo area. Oh...here it is:

Opa! (Greek food) has bellydancing as well as Khoury's. Although the Marrakech is probably more of an "experience" and closer to the strip.

Although the 2 other mentioned places only have dancers on the weekends!

yes Marrakech has dancing 7 days a week, I am there every day except Thursday and Sunday. I teach privates if you are interested in classes, you can email me at aradia11@aol.com

As for bead shops, Williams costumes has the best selection of fabrics rhinestones, appliques etc. I get all my costume supplies there!

I know we have tickets for a couple of things but my husband made the reservations so when he gets home, I will figure out what nights I could come out there. What time is the dance performance? Aradia, is it OK to take photos? I am a photographer. I would love to snap a few photos!!

Of course you can take photo's, shows start early, I would say make reservations for 7 pm. Remember I'm off on Thurs
