Please give us the quick info on your shows and haflat (that's plural for hafla, right?) for 2010. Include a link to all the details, if you have one.

Feel free to list regular venues, if you wish (include a link to the restaurant's site, please). Sometimes they list their dance shows, sometimes they don't, so we need to! ..g.:

This Friday March 12! Belladonna Shems and Shahrzad! DC/VA
We are doing a special show this Friday at the Casablanca restaurant in Alexandria VA. Should be awesome!

Dont miss this chance to see dance divas Shahrzad, Shems, and Belladonna perform their unique shows in such an intimate venue to live Arabic music! The show will also include numbers by Shems and Belladonna's fabulous student dancers.

After the show stay and dance the night away to the live music performed by Munir Al Asheq, DJ Kimo, and Mohcine.

Music 8:30pm-2am, belly dance show 9:30-11:30pm.

Cover charge : $15

My annual recital is 3 PM on Sunday, April 18, in Millersville, MD. Tickets are $10 and proceeds will go to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). More info and tickets at http://www.bintbeled.com/shows.htm.

Mosaic Cafe in College Park, right near the U. of Maryland, has a bimonthly hafla 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month now and live Arabic music on other weekends. I believe Shems and Nina Amaya are March's headliners (13th and 26th respectively) with other guest dancers, and I will be the featured dancer April 10th!

There is no cover and they have good Lebanese food, and the owner is very nice.

We're also going to have a sale table benefiting the WAMEDA library that we are trying to rebuild. We're still taking donations- you can bring them to the hafla.

Yay! I dance at the Alf Laylah Hafla in a couple months and I'll be there tomorrow to see the other dancers!

Hey - just stumbled on this. I'm going down to Fredricksburg Friday afternoon/evening or this weekend if I blow it on Friday. Is there anywhere I should go shop while I'm there (I'm going to get something from Belk)

Particularly good second hand stores? Bellydance shops? Anything else I should DEFINITELY see?

I will be in DC 11-22 April . . it would be good to meet some people or see some dancing. I see Latifa's hafla is during that time but I will be at a conference during the day, I can only go to evening things . . .

Last night I had the great pleasure of watching Suzana Nour at regular venue TurCuisine in Herndon followed by Tanya, Samira Sharuk, Ariel, and Lucy at Casablanca in Alexandria. Five Bhuzzers!!! It was such a fun night and I feel so lucky to live in an area (or at least 1 hour from it!) that has so many opportunities for enjoying talented dancers.

I just saw this. My hotel is only a few blocks from Casablanca restaurant does anyone know the schedule of dancers?

JUNE 26 afternoonish--Banat al Beled (Latifa's troupe) will be hosting a "Middle Eastern Meow and Woofla" backyard BBQ party to benefit the SPCA! It is an all troupe show covering all different styles of bellydance! It will be held in my backyard--I'm still organizing/working out details but I will post more info as they become concrete!

Well, not a class but I think Shems just booked November 12th as her annual show at the Baltimore Museum of Art! It was a blast last year--live music!

Oh, this Sunday, June 27, Alf Leyla Hafa - features a bunch of Bhuzzers from the DC area and from out of town who attend Artemis' workshop on how to dance with a band. I will be there, but on the sidelines b/c/o injury. Can't wait!

Also, what's happening on Saturday night? The Mosaique Show's starting time is too early for us to come, but what else is going on Saturday night? Who's dancing where?
