Thread: Detroit Raqs: are you going?

Since I can't attend IBCC, I'm thinking of catching some workshops at Detroit Raqs given that it's fairly close.

Anyone else going? Have you gone before? What was your experience like?

I went last year:) it was great! Going to be in Mexico this year so I will miss it but I will catch up with my girls at Shimmy in September:)

What/where are the details? I may be in Toronto and can get there fairly easy this year...

Not to totally thread jack but Hey Azhia...might you be around in September for Shimmy (its about 40 minutes west of detroit/20 min south of ann arbor)?? We'd LOVE to see you! Lots of bhuzzers will be teaching and hanging out for the weekend (24-26th)

Actually, I'm wondering if there is some place where all the workshops, retreats, weekends etc are listed. Like, a COMPLETE list. Does such an animal exist?

No such animal exists that I know of but it would be the best thing since bling:)

I vended last year (even though my spine collapsed that week..yikes!), had a great time.

Trying to find someone willing to split the drive/ride.

I just booked my hotel room: 64$ a night! And it includes free wifi, continental breakfast, fridge and microwave and there's a grocery store next door! (Lamp Post Inn, as recommended on the Detroit Raqs page)

I would like to go to Detroit Raks sometime - just can't this year - my husband had a massive stroke in December and is just home from the hospital so my workshop time is a bit limited at the present time.

Lamp Post in is great - stayed there before. So cheap!!
And OOOOF course the show started late - 30 minutes!! Better than last year, but it was good. I only went for the show tho, most of the workshops were the same as last year and I went to all the ones I wanted to then. Although I kinda wanted to go to the Lunch.

OMG workshop with Aegela was so awesome!!! And the flutters with Lana were great too, although I don't have quite the skill to follow along yet. But at least now I know what muscle to flex! LOL

Got ATS fundamentals this aft, should be fun. Then a long ride home.

Aegela is a wonderful teacher - I did a workshop with her a while back. Hubby is doing well but has a long road ahead of him. We are looking forward to the birth of a new grandchild in June - that's one thing that keeps hubby going. So far, everything is okay - my daughter-in-law has been dealing with cancer throughout this pregnancy - all I pray for is a healthy baby and that my daughter-in-law gets through everything okay.
