Advice about London
A non-bellydancing friend and I are seriously considering visiting London and Wales next September. I was hoping some of you from there could recommend decent places to stay? Neither of us have ever been there and don't have the foggiest notion where to start researching it. We're going to a one-day event in Wales but will stay in London for a few days after that. Also would like to go to Stonehenge (I suppose that's de riguer for tourists), and just generally would like a few tips for doing this as inexpensively as possible (can't have it hogging costume money!).
Suggestions? Clues? Books? Web sites?

Re: Advice about London
I'd suggest looking on trip advisor online for hotel suggestions, and also look online at the Time Out website for London restaurant reccomendations, shopping etc. Time Out do great specialist guides - I have the shopping one and the eating & drinking one. Of course, there is always the Lonely Planet guide also!

Re: Advice about London
We recently stayed at the Tudor Court Hotel in London. It's nothing fancy, but the owners are lovely people--very hospitable--and full English breakfasts are included. It's also 1/2 block from Paddington Station, which makes transportation both around London and to/from Heathrow (and, presumably, other train connections) very easy. It's also within walking distance to Hyde Park, which is lovely.
It gets good reviews on Trip Advisor, which is one reason we chose it.

Oh, and here's Frommer's review of it.
Note: There's a little Lebanese place around the corner with really good food.Last edited by CalgaryBibi; 04-16-2010 at 10:35 AM. Reason: to add a link
