Thread: Orientalicious International Belly Dance Congress!

EXTRA INFORMATION REGARDING TITO: TITO WILL PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONGRESS ON SATURDAY THE 19TH OF JUNE ONLY, DUE TO HIS PARTICIPATION AT THE NILE FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND. HE WILL GIVE A WORKSHOP AND DANCE IN THE SHOW ON SATURDAY THE 19TH OF JUNE AT ORIENTALICIOUS - INTERNATIONAL BELLY DANCE CONGRESS!

Amsterdam, 18th, 19th and 20th of June 2010

Forget yawning conference participants and boring PowerPoint presentations! During Orientalicious ‘power’ has everything to do with the spectacular belly dance show of superstar Jillina, a bellydance centipede from Los Angeles! Power also means 18 international top dancers from Egypt, Brazil and America, 18 workshops spread over three days, countless performances and an Oriental bazaar. Give this dance style the label you want - oriental dance, belly dance, Middle Eastern dance – what you see during this congress are the latest dance trends. Both traditional and modern classical and cross-overs. Three days full of belly dance in all its diversity and full of inspiration due to the exclusive line-up of oriental dancers!

Friday the 18th of June, we will start with workshops on all levels. At night, there will be an opening party, where different artists will perform. For lovers there is the opportunity to dance on the open stage. There is also the opportunity for them to perform the music of the band Adana. In between shows, there will be the possibility to dance on live-music from among others the Adanaband (Iraq) and DJ Omar (Egypt). There will also be an oriental bazaar!

During the day on Saturday, there are more workshops on different levels and atheatre/gala night at Podium Mozaiek (close to the location where the workshops will be held). The international artists will give a dazzling and unprecedented show of oriental dance. This show demonstrates how versatile, contemporary and also compelling Oriental dance is.

On Sunday, more workshops will be held. In conclusion, the delegates can have a meet and greet with the artists at the café of Studio Focus.

In the workshop schedule there are two workshops for men; traditional Egyptian dance.

OMG Tito in Amsterdam! That's short notice, though...don't know if I'll make it...

i'll be there! i'm performing at the opening party friday night and taking workshops/watching the gala saturyday!

Oh no, just heard they had to cancel two Tito's workshops. So, I will not come and feel really disappointed.

I also wanted to take Tito's workshops and Jillina's. Any news?

Got an update, and the site is updated as well: Tito's workshops on Fr and Su are not happening, but the Saturday one is. So it looks like I'll be taking 2 Jillinas and one Tito then :)

I'll definitely take the Tito workshop on saturday too. Have you already decided what other workshops to take?
