Our 2010 event schedule has been updated with workshop and category competition times! DVDs of the 2009 BDNC have been flying out of the box - people are serious!

Workshops are hot too, so we don’t have to tell you register before the best package deals are gone! And the best news? We will be announcing a "special" category with an amazing prize presented by Michelle Joyce of Cheeky Girls Productions!

WORKSHOPS YOU SAY?

We are so happy to present Belly Dance Focus Tracks this year.

Focus 1: Competition Track - How you prepare for a competition is as important as all the talent, technique and training. In this track, you will be introduced to different approaches to competing from some of the most successful/working dancers in the country!

Focus 3: Talent & Technique Track- This is a workshop on dance technique, designed to provide essential skills for the professional and serious hobbyist dancer. The instructors in this series will help provide the solid dance foundation needed in order to perform and execute Raks Sharki and Bellydance with success!

Focus 3: Professional Career “On Track” -This focal track was created or our professional dancers who are seeking to make a profitable belly dance career! You will be exposed to marketing, creating your professional image and style, finding your niche, legalities, and best of all, tips on branching out to the national and international stages. There will be a special discussion for DVD filming and getting sponsorships to teach workshops with event organizers.

Join us in November. . . visit Washington, D.C. and Baltimore and while you’re at it, take home a trophy or two!

I'm hoping to check it out this year.

I know slots are only on wait list for this year, but how far in advance does the sign-up for a spot usually occur? or when does registration usually open?

This year's registration started a week after last year's competition. We get started early! Ha!

If you're interested in joining the BDNC 2011, keep your eyes open the week following BDNC 2010 and jump on in!

This is going to be a blast, can't wait to meet up with everyone!!!

I'll be there as well! Something this awesome in my area (well I'm Delaware) cant' be missed!!! I might not make it friday but I'll be at the hotel for saturday and sunday. Anyone else drooling over the workshops yet?? I AM,,, but still haven't signed up yet, need to make sure it fits in my schedule!

I plan on being there that Saturday! Hope to see you again, Shiraz.

I can't believe it's so close. The year has flown by!

YES! I am soooooooooooooooooo excited!

Hallejuah! The 2010 Belly Dance Nationals is only two weeks away! We are pretty tickled pink about this year because:

1. Wait lists- Completely Closed. Holy cow! This year's National Champion category is going to be no joke..w.:

2. Hotel Block - Some of you are still emailing me for rooms. We sold out the room block twice! If you are still looking for a room at the BDNC rates, please email me directly lotus niraja at gmail dot com. I have complied a list of names to give to out hotel event manager so that you can grab the rate.

3. Workshops - Belly dancers really seem to love the topics this year. We had to get a larger room. If you are still shopping around for classes, please visit the website and register for your classes now.

4. Tickets - Ticket Sales Spiked this week! I am having to dip into the "at-door" tickets, so please get your tickets online in advance so that they can be held at will-call!

5. Volunteers - Full, between Bhuz and our local dance community, you guys responded in force. Thank you!

6. 2011 BDNC - is now open. If you tried to get in this year or couldn't commit until next year. The registration is open. If you are considering National Champion or Proptastic, sign up for those FIRST.

7. PROJECT BELLYDANCE!: Will be running concurrently with The BDNC. There are contestants from all over the world coming to compete in not just The BDNC, but also for that coveted prize: starring in their very own Cheeky Girls Productions DVD! Some are doing both!

8. Friday, Night Hafla! - Our party gift to you before the throes of the BDNC. Friday, November 19th, 2010. HOT RAKS HAFLA! CAZBAR EVENT - Meet and Greet Evening Event! 7:30 pm to 2:00 am! Join us for an evening of food, cocktails, dance, fun, and networking. Production Staff, Directors, Judges, Contestants, and more will be in attendance at the hottest event to kick off the BDNC! Dance the night away at The Cazbar’s I-Lounge night club. Aradia is our Guest Headliner!

Figures. I had to back out of this months ago (after signing up almost immediately after last year's event) due to some mandatory family plans conflicting with the event. Guess what? Family plans CANCELLED. So bummed! Looking forward to next year though!!!
