So who's going? ..g.:

i have been going every year for the last six years ago. mostly for the full ten days... a yearly sabbatical. this year due to circumstances just the first weekend though, but very happy that for the first time in years, i'll have some students with me, yeay

Me! Going from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday. Seeing it as a sabbatical is a good way of putting it!

Well I'm really looking forward to some Aziza workshops and seeing the competition. Who knows some day I'll be good enough to compete :)

I'll be there on Tuesday to Thursday, taking workshops with Aziza. I decided to not go during the weekend, hoping the classes would be smaller.

whaaa jealous!!! and yes queenie, that's what i used to do, see it as a weeks holiday from work and from my own classes, and come back with new energy

the america tour ate up all my free days though, and saving some for the two england trips coming up.

Well the Swedish rent a party will be there! But only for the last weekend:(

I'll be in the competition with my troupe, joining the formations category. Only three days left...,r:;

I wil be there on saturday to watch the competition, and of course to cheer for all of you ^^ !!

We're also in the formations category!

We won third place in the 4th Bellydancer of the World competition, Categorie Formations, Discipline Classical Oriental thanks to our SUPER teacher Artemisia!!

I had to leave before the Solo's category was over...

But what I remember : Duo Bintani (Anadil & Nasreen (Belgium)) won the Raks Sharki Duo.
And Nadia (Russia) won the Solo Folklore.
Amirah won Solo Tribal.

A-Team (Belgium) won 3rd place in Classical Oriental (Formations)
Raks Pro! (Belgium) won 2nd place in Classical Oriental (Formations)

Thats about all I know (I did not see the whole show...)

Oh and

Company Jawhara (France) won Classical Oriental (Formations)

Ruby (USA) won second place Solo Folklore (I think it was that category...)

Nadia (Russia) won Solo Fantasy

yeay yeay yeay. i am super proud of all my students & coachees & dance friends

and i llllove the pictures with the three awards (3rd for raks pro, 2nd for ateam and 1st for duo bintani)

and i just had a great time cheeering on all my friends

queenie did amazing in both categories she entered as wellll!!! she was amazing, i hope she puts the clip on youtube soon as she gets it so you can see for yourselves. we are sooo happy and proud and lucky to have her as a raks pro member and choreographer

i'm sorry i didnt catch the winner of the solo classical, i was totally wiped out by then. leila usually sends out an email with all results pretty quick and will post then

My team Shazadi has won second place in the formations - folklore category! yay!

In this category Ferièl's formation has won first prize, Akasha from Czech Republic has won 3rd prize.

Congratulations to all winners, I've seen a lot of talented dancers on stage saturday!

I read on FB that is was Nika Mlakar from Slovenia who won Classical Oriental Solo. Don't know for sure though...

I haven't heard who won in the solo categories this year, but what I know is that Nika Mlakar and Ferièl both won first prize in classical oriental solo in 2009. But maybe she entered the contest this year too, and she won again? Can't wait to hear about the results!

yes, nika mlakar won again. feriel was not in the solo cat this year

I didn't remember her name, but her performance was really beautiful! I SO want her costume by the way!!!

I personally had a lot of fun in our A-team & am uberproud that we got 3rd place :)
RaksPro ROCKED!!!

And Queenie, Nasreen, Anadil were definitely amazing!!!!!! And so were so many others! It was a long, exhausting but fun day!!!

I can't wait for next year, and I want to compete in several categories cuz I really like it ..g.: LOVE the backstage atmosphere :)
