Thread: Belly Dance Scene in Ithaca NY?

Hi everyone, hubby may be getting a new job where we need to re-locate. Place isnt determined yet, but ... I was wondering if there was a belly dance scene in Ithaca or around and how far??

My friend June is in Ithaca: Moonlight Dancer

I like her as a person, she is lovely dancer, and she continues to study with Artemis Mourat. I have never taken classes with her, but we have been students in a multi-day intensive together. Now, of course, it all depends on what style you're in love with.

June and Zajal sponsored Delilah in workshop & show that I participated in 2000 in Ithaca. Seemed like a pretty active Bellydance world there, we had a great time.

as far as i know there aren't any paying gigs around there, one restaurant with student dancers for food, hopefully he'll figure out it's worth it to pay dancers and have the performers actually be there to perform instead of to party....
anyway, there's a great band called Souk. the oudist/nay player played with Turbo Tabla, his name is Nikolai.
