Thread: new to san diego, wanna meet dancers

I just relocated from Oregon to San Diego. Any weekly dance shows or some such that anyone recommends to meet other dancers to make friends? I was thinking about taking a class to meet people, any recommendations on a fun teacher?

I miss my dancing friends in Oregon like crazy! Got to find some new kindred spirits. :)

I was just in San Diego last week and did a lecture. I met some really fabulous people there. I'm sure you'll enjoy getting to know them! Mahmoud Reda will be teaching a workshop there soon, sponsored by Morwenna Assaf.

I second Sabrina! She's a darling (and has some killer tempting sparklies to boot!). I believe she also puts on a showcase periodically with other local dancers, so that would be a good place to start meeting people too.

About Sameda

The annual SAMEDA Faire takes place in San Diego on Sunday, July 17. You can enjoy performances by the local talent and meet some nice dancers. I'll be there; hope you will be, too!

what part of San Diego are you in? there is tons of stuff going on here! a good place to get info is Welcome to SAMEDA its a local bellydance info center. also there are classes and performances all over the place. live music and canned. i have a meet up group on meetup.com and there are a few others, just search belly dance san diego. i am in poway. feel free to contact me if you need any help :) 5038661800
