Thread: D.C. this weekend (August 19/20)

Who is performing in DC this weekend? A small group of us (incl. myself, and Bhuzzer Ceydahazine) will be in Silver Spring, and would love to know if there is something great going on. Whom can we watch and support?

I saw a "DC tribal cafe" hafla/show on my facebook newsfeed, I think it was Samira Shuruk that posted (and is performing), and I think there is a "DC tribal cafe" page on facebook with details... PS Did you get those zills that were on ebay?

The tribal cafe is august 28th. There is the Inappropriate Hafla in Baltimore Aug 20th at 3. 5005 Arabia Avenue
Baltimore, MD 21214

Don tknow if that is too far, but thats all that I know of. It will be fun!

and even further north...Sunday is Delaware Drum and Dance Hafla in Newark

We'll have to check with our guest of honor to see if she wants to go out, or sit home and pet the cats!

This event is still on, but my beautiful buddy Noor-Jihan unfortunately has sprained her ankle. You comes out, you gets me instead.

It was sooo much fun to dance with and for Steffi and Danielle! Rainstorms and Ramadan kept the turnout a little low, but the many friends who came out made up for it in enthusiasm. Thanks, ladies!

Got through my set without falling over, but managed to trip over my own darned feet coming in my frontdoor. Dancers are so graceful. Off to find some ice....
