But I got to Thanksgothing, that will ahve to be close enough for now

i want to go soooooo much, but it is the same time as my biggest project of the year is due at work. so sad. it looks like a great event. but i will definitely go next year! please give a report.

I'm too new to the Gothic Bellydance scene to try performing yet, but I'm SO excited just to go!!!

My good friends, and up and coming Tribal Fusion troupe TABU are performing (I think...I know they're talking about it anyway...). :)

Can you come and tell that to my longitudinal data analysis and survey design professors? ,r:;

When I figure out how to fly, this will be so much easier, and cheaper. Or can we get the star trek transporter thing going?

I'm already signed up and all payed up for Gothla, so I will have to take a workshop with Fahtiem another time...doesn't she have a dance camp...or retreat or something similar? ;)

yes in the summer. she does teach many classes though so when you come to LA you can just drop into one of them. tina

The performance line-up is now on the website for the day festival, and a partial list of vendors. Up shortly will be the definitive plan for 3 dark nights of celebration :)

The special workshop package rates will expire on Monday, 1/7!

I went to the one in the UK last summer - I'm sure you'll have a blast. Took classes with Tempest, Sashi and Ariellah all very different and all very good. I just wish dvd/youtube could deliver the same feeling as seeing a dancer live.

If I/someone/anyone could figure that one out as well, I'd be the happiest gal ever. Video is just not the same as the live experience. Nothing beats the energy of being there live - for both the performer and the audience.

Oh I agree! There are some dancers who are just AMAZING live, but it doesn't translate well on video...

I'm getting so excited for this event!!!!! I finally get to see Tempest, Ariellah and Sashi and all of the other amazing dancers LIVE! Woo hoo!!!

Wow! So many impressive dancers teaching! But I'm poor! *goes off wailing*

(Hmmm, my department has a remote office located in Fullerton, I wonder if I could finagle a business reason to be out there that weekend? Wouldn't that be cool!)

I was so excited to get that message yesterday! Now I just have to wait until I get paid! lol

Well, I just found out I'll be attending on Saturday...as a plain ol' event attendee (as in, not as a vendor, dancer, anything with responsibility attached!) I can just sit, drink in the sights, watch the shows and it will be good. :sigh of happiness: I've been workin' pretty hard, so it will be good to take a little vacation.

I hope to meet some of you Bhuzzers if possible. Come say hi if you see a tall skinny girl with glasses and red hair. ..g.:

FYI - last day for purchasing workshop registration online (and therefore with a credit card or checking account via PayPal) is Sunday! You can also pre-purchase tickets online for the daytime festival and the evening Gothic Gala, as well as special discount tix for both!

Thanks to everyone who came out, volunteered, performed, shopped, and all-in-all supported our event. We are just in shock and humbled at the incredibly positive response, fantastic turn-out and enthusiasm.

It was great meeting many new folks, as well as connecting with SoCal folks I haven't seen in a while...and I got to see Habibi dance to Billie Holiday :) She was hot!
