Thread: Sydney Australia - 3rd Annual 3 day Dance Summer School with top Arabic musicians

10am-4pm daily - Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th and Monday 7th January 2008

This is a unique and very special opportunity to dance to arabic traditional instruments live. We have the violin, the oud, the ney, the mizmar, the duduk, the large tabal, the darabouka. Terezka introduces you to the experience of a lifetime.

We dance to the classical piece 'Nibtidi Mnein El Hakaya' (If we speak darling, from where will this story begin) This happens daily. We also work to Om Koulsoms stunning composition 'Howa Saheer' deeply and profoundly.

We experience dancing to taqasims to oud, violin, ney, duduk and mizmar becoming familiar with 'maqams' the melodies in arabic music and how to express ourselves correctly to them along with chakra healing.

In addition traditional saiidi with 2 mizmars and large tabal. We learn about arabic culture, dance technique, spiritual expression, personality and use of floorspace. You will come through this experience enlightened and your dancing will move up a notch or two.

Hmm I should suggest to Terezka to also cater to interstate people by hosting a small concert and dinner as well.
