Thread: Festival of Oriental Dance in Minneapolis - who is going?

Who all is going to Cassandra's Festival of Oriental Dance in Minneapolis next week? Details at Festival 2011 General Information if you haven't yet heard of it....

I'm currently planning to drive up there on Tuesday of next week and stay through Sunday. Which of you will I see there?

I'm going to be doing TWO lectures each two hours long. Cassandra is making them both available FREE OF CHARGE to festival participants. One is "Hares in the Harem and Fantasies of Seduction" which is the one I did at the IBCC in Toronto in 2010, but I've added a LOT more material to it in the past year and a half, so even if you saw it in Toronto, you'll find a lot of stuff you didn't see last year. The other is "Dance in Egyptian Cinema", and that too has new material added since I presented it at Northern Lights last year.

I really want to drive down from Fargo saturday morning and leave sunday. Hope the stars align…it would be wonderful to meet you!

I'll be there, and I'm very excited! I am taking 4 workshops (2 with Ruby, 1 with Amel, and 1 with Dahlena) and performing in the Thursday evening show (shamadan with my troupe and a double veil solo). I am trying to figure out how to attend more- especially your Thursday lecture, but childcare is the big issue for me. I might be going to either the Friday or Saturday evening shows - I am scheduled to dance at my restaurant both of those nights, but my show will be cancelled if they're not busy enough. So, I've got a ticket reserved for both nights, just in case I end up being available to go!

Ezma, it would be great to see you too! But remember, you met me in 2010 (or was it 2009? I forget) at Rakkasah!

Cassandra's designed things so that a BUNCH of the events are FREE, including both of my lectures. (We instructors are getting paid, but she's not charging the attendees for our sessions.)
